英语童谣与数学算数结合的课堂实录

我在之前的推文中曾提到过，美国小学老师是全科老师，就是一位老师教全科，包括语言、数学、自然科学等等。这样的课程安排，有利于老师全方位地把所学内容糅合在一起，让孩子明白，这些知识内容之间是互相联系的。
本期课堂实录是老师利用英语童谣来给孩子讲解数学减法的教学片断。

老师：okay，so we just read five little monkeys sitting in a tree, right?
学生：Yeah.
老师：So what happened to them? Raise your hand.
学生：They tease the crocodile.
老师：They tease the crocodile. What the crocodile do after they teased him?
学生：Snap.
老师：They snap. Okay, whatever they snap, what he did the crocodile? He took them away, right? He took them away. So what is taken away in math? What is another…? What is…
学生：Subtraction.
老师：what is it？
学生：subtraction.
老师： Subtraction. So everybody know what subtraction is?
学生：Yes.
老师：Is everybody known subtraction sentences?
学生：Yes!
老师：okay. So what makes subtraction sentences? What?
学生：Five minus five equals zero.
老师：Okay, I'm gonna write the example on the board. He said, ( 板书）5-5=0 so that's a subtraction sentence, right?
学生：Yes!
老师：Is everybody agree? Everybody does? Okay, so now we're going to sing the five little monkey song, and we're gonna stop each time the monkey snaps, and we're gonna write the subtraction sentences on the board, okay?
学生：Okay.
老师：Will that be fun?
学生：Yes.
老师：So everybody hand's up, we have five little monkey on our hand. （老师示范举起右手并伸展，五个手指就代表五只小猴子，学生模仿老师）Okay, this is gonna be Mr. Alligator. （左手动作为模仿鳄鱼的嘴巴）And we're gonna say:
Five little monkeys sitting in a tree.
Teasing Mr. Alligator can't catch me.
（边说童谣，右手来回摇晃代表五只小猴子在摇荡）
Along comes Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.
（左手代表的鳄鱼慢慢靠近右手游了过来）
And snap that monkey ran out of that tree.
（左手的鳄鱼吃掉了右手的一只小猴子，右手只留下了四只手指头代表四只小猴子）
老师：Okay, who can raise his hand to write the subtraction sentences? Yes.
学生：There are four.
老师：There's four. So what's the subtraction sentence? And if there are five monkeys and the alligator took away one monkey …
学生：5 minus 4… 5 minus 1…1 equals 4…
老师：Okay, there are five little monkeys and the alligator came snap one out of the tree, so what's the subtraction sentence?
学生：one minus four equals four.
老师：He only took away one monkey. So what's the subtraction sentence could be?
5 minus one monkey equals four. Good job.
老师板书：5-1=4
老师：Is everyone agree?
学生：Yes.
老师：Okay. Now we have four little monkeys on our hand.
Four little monkeys sitting in a tree.
Teasing Mr. Alligator can't catch me.
Along comes Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.
And snap that monkey ran out of that tree.
（动作同上）
老师：Okay, who know the subtraction sentence is gonna be?
学生：4 minus 1 equals 3.
老师：Good job, that's perfect. 板书：4-1=3（4 minus 1 equals 3）. cause there are four monkey left in a tree. And the Mr. alligator came to snap another one else, that means 4 minus 1 equals 3, right?
学生：Yeah.
老师：So now how many monkeys in our hand? Three.
Ready?
Three little monkeys sitting in a tree.
Teasing Mr. Alligator can't catch me.
Along comes Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.
And snap that monkey ran out of that tree.
（动作同上）
老师：Okay. Who knows the sentences? Okay, there are three monkeys left in a tree and now the alligator came and snap another one out of there.
学生：2 minus 3
老师：We start with 3 monkeys this time. There are 3 monkeys in the tree.
学生：I know. 3 minus 1 equals 2.
老师：That is perfect. Everybody hear that?
学生：Yes.
老师：Is everybody agree?
学生：Yes.
老师：Okay, so how many monkeys sitting in a tree? 2
Two little monkeys sitting in a tree.
Teasing Mr. Alligator can't catch me.
Along comes Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.
And snap that monkey ran out of that tree.
（动作同上）
Okay, so everybody know about the subtraction sentences?
学生：2 minus 1 equals 1.
老师：That is absolutely perfect. Is everybody agree with that one?
学生：Yes.
老师：Perfect.
Okay, we have our last monkey the only monkey left in the tree. Okay? So everybody hold one finger. One finger. Okay.
One little monkey sitting in a tree.
Teasing Mr. Alligator can't catch me.
Along comes Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.
And snap that monkey ran out of that tree.
（动作同上）
Who knows about the subtraction sentence?
学生：1 minus 1 equals zero.
老师：Perfect. Okay, everybody agrees with that one?
学生：Yes.
老师：So we know what subtraction is, right?
学生：Yes
老师：And we all know subtraction sentences.
关于加减乘除的数学用语，这些都是孩子们要在课堂上学会的。我家大娃现在是一年级，已经开学一个月了。在这一个月里，他需要掌握以下一些关于加减的数学词汇：
part, part, whole, in all, all together, mising addend, difference
加法等式：addition sentences
减法等式：subtraction sentences
下图中展示了加减乘除的其它表示用语，供大家学习使用。
在wee sing and play这本儿歌童谣中，有不少和数学相关的童谣歌曲，很适合用于数学算数的小活动中。和娃边唱边数数吧。
