有老师给我留言说,她的学生们英语基础不太好,有些特别简单的句子都说不好,比如她拿出来一张自行车的图片后问孩子们:what is this? 孩子们的回答五花八门,“it's a yellow.”"it's bike." 她就很苦恼,基础这么薄弱的孩子们,到底该怎么教?
我给她的建议是:Model, Model, Model.
对于启蒙初期完全没有基础的孩子们来说,老师要多去示范,就像对待学说话的小婴儿一样,一遍一遍地对Ta说正确的语言,让Ta重复你说的话。同时还要多鼓励表扬他们的努力。
第二点建议是:多给孩子们读有重复性语句的书。比如:
Brown bear brown bear what do you see. 这类书里有大量重复性的语句,孩子们在多次反复的跟读、朗诵、背诵、歌唱中,就能把正确的语句输入并存储在大脑记忆中,在重复中逐渐就形成了语感。

今天的课堂实录,我找了Miss GLeyce老师针对母语葡萄牙语的巴西孩子的教学建议。Gleyce老师将借助Brown bear这本书,给我们说说对于学习英语初期的孩子们,如何更有效地来教这本经典绘本。

Today my teaching tips are on this book: 
brown bear brown bear what do you see?
老师:Hi, Jasmine.
孩子:Hello.
老师:how are you? Are you good?
学生:Yes.
老师:
So what book is this. It's brown bear right?  Brown bear. Okay, open the book.
如何更好地利用本书绘本蝴蝶页
I have noticed that many teachers do not know how to use the full book. what do I mean?
I mean that besides telling the whole story, take advantage of everything you have in the book.

For example, as you open the book you're going to notice that all animals are in this story are going to be here.
You can play that game called I spy.  You can say I spy a brown bear and the kid has to go and just point at the bear. I spy two yellow ducks and they have to go 1,2. 2 yellow ducks.
老师:Where is brown bear?
学生:brown bear.
老师:Where? Do you see brown bear?
孩子用手指出。
老师:Yes, where is the red bird?
老师:Ah, where is the blue horse?
唱(sing)或吟诵(chant)绘本会更生动
There are songs. There's one that sounds like this: 
brown bear brown bear what do you see? I see a red bird looking at me. 
If you don't feel comfortable singing, 
you can chant. Do you know what chant is?
A chant is simply vocabulary spoken over a background of music or a rhythm. 
For example, 
brown bear brown bear what do you see?  I see a red bird looking at me
师生:
brown bear brown bear what do you see?
老师:
I see a what what what do you see? What is that?   It's a bird. I see a red bird looking at me.  Are you ready?
吟诵绘本好处多
The use of chant use repetition to engage the right side of brains musical intelligence. Through the use of repetition and having fun together students  improve their automatic use of language. 
so teacher when you improve your ability to tell a story, sing the story and chant the story , you will have the opportunity to use this book more times and if for every  time you tell it or use the book you propose a different activity. It's gonna sound like a whole new book for them. And every time they are not going to get bored and by repeating the same word every day or every time, they will memorize the words and they will improve their vocabulary.
总结:充分活跃右脑的音乐智能,让孩子在愉悦地重复中把语言内化,形成语感,以便将来能把地道的英语表达脱口而出。
把预测阅读策略用于教学中
Before tell this story, you know, make a prediction with them. 
What is the book about? And have them think and do not give them the answer.
老师:Blue horse, blue horse, what do you…see? What do you see boys?
What? What comes next?I see… what's that?
在教学中要引导孩子开口去说
Another important thing, elicit from them, instead of just giving them the answer. 
So this is brown bear. No, you would go like what is this?
老师:What says quack quack?
孩子:Yellow duck.
老师:Yellow duck, yeah!
如果孩子基础薄弱,不知道怎么开口去说的时候,老师可以这样引导:
If they do not know, instead of saying it's a bear, you just give them options:
Is it a bear or dog?  When you do this, they usually get it's a bear. Maybe they don't know the name is a bear but they it's not a dog.
老师:
What's that? You see that a cat or a fish?
孩子:Cat!
老师:It's a cat. No, does it say meow?
孩子摇头
老师:What is this? A cat or a fish?
孩子:Fish.
老师:Fish. I see a gold fish…
对于基础薄弱的孩子,老师要有耐心
Give them time to think. If they go like (思考状) just give them time, be patient.
老师:Is it a dog or a duck?
孩子思考,老师耐心等待。
关于如何教发音:
About pronunciation. Always model, like in Portuguese fish sounds like [peishi], and it's very common to students to look at the fish and say  [peishi], so you know just say ok, look at me, have them look at your mouth, and say fish and have them repeat after you, fish.
老师:No no no, look at me, fish.
孩子:Fish.
老师:Yes.
老师指着下一张图片,孩子说frog
孩子:frog.
老师:
say green frog. I see a green frog looking at ….me.
关于绘本的拓展
If they can read, you can have them just you know match the name of the animal to the animal. It can be you know using a pencil just with the finger.
If they can't read,  just have them point at the animal and say what it is. You know just have them point in there you can ask them questions: what animal is this? What color is it? How big is it?
孩子指着动物说:
brown bear, sheep, cat , yellow duck
老师:
look at all those colors. What color is this?
老师指着黄色方块,孩子说:green
老师:No
孩子:Yellow
I see what? What are these people?
孩子:friends
老师:boys and …
孩子:girls
多表扬孩子,让孩子看到自己一点一滴的进步
You can also ask them which animals live in the water, on the land, on the air. And of course, praise them every time they get the right answer. You say, very good, good job, great.
所以对于刚刚开始学英语的孩子来说,咱们作为陪伴者要有耐心,要接纳千奇百怪各种错误的耐心,同时还要有如何更好地帮助孩子的思考和实践。以上教学建议,希望能给各位老师和爸妈们以启发。
