从上学时一味追求名校
到毕业后追求精英行业
也许大多数中国孩子一样
几乎从出生的那一刻起就体验到了peer pressure
从好的方面来看
peer pressure让人不偷懒、不松懈
周围人都在努力读书的时候
我也会不自觉地用功起来
周围人都在规划职业的时候
迫使我也去思考自己的未来
而不是一味回避这个让人恐惧的问题
从坏的方面看
peer pressure让人随大流、不思考
不敢跳脱出去做意想不到的事情
是禁锢，是无形的枷锁
既然peer pressure无法避免
不如好好去利用它
譬如说，你周围的同学都在削尖脑袋往投行咨询界挤
你不想这样，因为你觉得你对这一行并不感兴趣
这完全没错
而事情不能到
“他们喜欢这个，我不喜欢
所以这一切跟我就没有关系啦”

也许可以多问问自己几个问题
“如果毕业后我不想做这些，那我想做的是什么？”
“为了我想做的这件事（法律/新闻/医学/研究，等等）

In my opinion, there has never been a more challenging time to be a child.
Young people are now facinggrowing and inescapable pressures. Be it at home, at school or with their friends, stress is mounting. Today, there is so much testing in schools that children are spending less time outdoors. This rigorous testing also leads to a crippling fear of failure, which cannot be healthy for any child. Today’s children are not free-range, they’re battery reared.
The clearest evidence for this is the dramatic rise of mental health issues.Instances of mental health issues have risen 70 percent since the 1970s, and one in ten of our teenage children now has a diagnosable mental health condition. This widespread depression can even provoke a child to take their own life. Clearly, today’s youth are under more pressure than their parents ever were.
