本次课程将介绍中国工笔画的基础知识。学生将探索简单的山水画，结合中国工笔画与西方的绘画技术，使用写意的笔法。

此次课程的重点通过夸张手法展示个人的表现力、和对于画作的解释以及抽象的概念。学生将在宣纸上使用墨水、水彩和水粉，创造出美妙的视觉效果。本课程提供树木、树林、山与瀑布画法的教学。

LPS Green Teams

莱镇为我们运输垃圾的合同一年后到期，目前镇政府重新考虑处理垃圾的方式。

40%的垃圾是食物垃圾以及可转化为堆肥的有机材料。这是多么神奇啊！运输潮湿的，沉重的食物垃圾是很昂贵的，这些垃圾假如不用来堆肥而用来燃烧，还会变成有毒物质。这些食物垃圾，都可以变成撒在花园和草坪上的堆肥。

我们继续以这种方式处理垃圾，小镇负责人需要考虑如何应对现实的气候影响。虽然我们镇大约20%的资金都用于路边堆肥，但我们需要将其推广到更广的范围。

Webinar

LexPride offers Rainbow Artists as an opportunity for LGBTQ+ youth and allies to learn and grow creative expression skills with a community of peers. An experienced creative expression art therapist and an art therapy intern facilitate the meetings, which take place via Zoom.

During a session, the instructors guide participants through projects while creating a safe environment for conversation. We also bring in special guests to talk about their work and journeys as LGBTQ+ artists.

Chinese Brush Painting: Landscape with Qingxiong Ma

This course will introduce the basics of Chinese brush painting. Students will explore simple landscape painting, with a combination of Chinese brush painting and Western techniques. Using freehand brushwork, the emphasis will be on expressiveness, individual interpretation and abstraction through exaggeration. Students will use ink, watercolor, and gouache on rice paper to create wonderful visual effects. This class will learn to paint trees, woods, mountains and waterfalls.

In the event of inclement weather, will move to a large meeting room at Cary Memorial Library, 1874 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington .

Have a field day with coordination and cooperation playing parachute games!

Please register each participating child separately. Accompanying adults should not register but should plan to stay nearby. This program will be held on the Visitor's Center lawn, please go directly to the Visitor's Center lawn and look for the parachute. In the event of inclement weather, we'll be indoors in the Large Meeting Room.

Join us for a fun and dynamic look at the world of theatre! During this class we will work together on scenes to perform at the end of the week. We will use the scripts to learn stage directions and theatre terms. Through improvisation games, character development and fun exercises with our work on the scenes, we'll be guaranteed a entertaining adventure of our own!

This class will take place on our outdoor stage (weather permitting) and the final performance will be at 6:00pm on the Friday.

American Red Cross Babysitting Basics class covers a wide range of information that can help new babysitters gain the skills and confidence needed to care for infants and children. The course includes information on: how to care for infants and children; what to do in an emergency and how to stay safe; choosing age appropriate activities; recognizing, understanding and handling certain behaviors; basic first aid, epi pen training, hands-only CPR; and how to start a babysitting business. Upon successful completion students will receive a printable certificate from the American Red Cross. All equipment and materials provided.

Join the Lexington Chamber of Commerce on Friday, July 22nd, for its third performance in its Summer Concert Series.

The Chamber's Summer Concerts Series is free to the public and will continue every Friday night July through August and are scheduled from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The Summer Concerts Series has been providing free music for over three decades now and attracts families from Lexington and many of the surrounding communities. With a variety of musical styles, and a relaxed "picnic in the park" atmosphere, the concerts promote the old-time neighborliness of Lexington.

Remember to bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, and refreshments. Concerts will be canceled due to inclement weather, and there are no rain dates scheduled.

Smart Cycling Youth & Parent

Looking for a fun, educational activity to do with your teen/tween? Take this Smart Cycling class together and prepare yourselves for many safe, fun biking adventures to come!

In this course designed for youth ages 11-15 and their adult parents or guardians, you will learn the rules of the road and safety considerations for biking, proper bike fit, helmet fit, important bike handling skills, basics of bike maintenance, and then enjoy and escorted on-bike road ride to put your learning into practice!

Bring a bike that is in riding condition, a helmet, and wear closed-toe shoes. Please also bring water and a snack.

Registration fee, $39 for resident and $45 for non-resident.

Beginner and Intermediate Table Tennis Summer Intensive for Adults with Olivia Lam

Time: Mon – Fri, 7/25 – 7/29

10:00 am – 12:00 noon

Location: Lexington Community Center, 39 Marrett Rd, Lexington

Come and play table tennis with former professional table tennis player Oliava Lam! This program is designed for adults and seniors to learn table tennis skills and stay fit. Table tennis helps improve hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and balance. Class starts with 10 minutes of warm-up, followed by practicing racket grips and basic strokes for 30 minutes. The class will end with single/double games.

LPS Green Teams

Dear Lexingtonian, Lexington’s contract for our waste hauling is up in a year. This is the time for the Town to reconsider the way we deal with our trash.

40% of trash is food waste and organic material that can be converted into compost. How amazing is that! And, hauling wet, heavy food waste is expensive and then this waste gets burned and turned into toxics, instead of compost (did I mention that all of this food waste becomes compost that we can spread on our gardens and lawns?

The Town needs to reconsider how we address this very real climate impact of continuing to deal with our trash the way we do. While about 20% of our Town pays for curbside composting, we need to expand this into a town-wide effort.

The LPS Green Teams petition asking for action on this important issue.

Time is running out. If we do not get our voices heard, the town will continue the status quo and lock in more years of food waste burning.
