# 什么是STEAM教育？

# What is STEAM Education?

-STEAM-

STEAM教育是科学（Science）、技术（Technology）、工程（Engineering）、艺术（Arts）和数学（Mathematics）融合在一起进行综合性的学习和探究，旨在提高学生的跨学科综合能力、解决问题的能力和创新能力。

不同于传统的单学科严格界定、重书本知识传授的教育方式，STEAM教育是一种重实践的跨学科教育理念和教育模式，让学科之间得到融合，是新型教育的一个重要开端。

STEAM education is the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics for comprehensive learning and inquiry, aiming to improve students' interdisciplinary comprehensive ability and problem-solving capabilities and innovation capabilities.

Different from the traditional education method that strictly defines a single subject and emphasizes the teaching of book knowledge, STEAM education is an interdisciplinary education concept and education model that emphasizes practice. It allows the integration of disciplines and is an important beginning of a new type of education.

# 为什么我们要STEAM教育？

很长的一段时间里，在教育领域，我们一直在为能确保我们的学生得到一份 "好工作 "而进行教学设定。但“好工作”是教学的最终目的吗？

随着时代的发展，学习环境是可以发生变化的。我们的世界本身就是一个美丽、复杂的学问库，但没有人到外面去观察一棵树，然后说："那是一棵树，所以那是科学 "或者 "天空是蓝色的，所以那是艺术"。学问知识不应该只被框在学校与教室里。整合概念、主题、标准和评估是一种强有力的方式，可以转变学生学习的传统进程，并帮助改变 "学校 "。

STEAM教育帮助我们打开现实世界的大门，将现实放进教学，将教学联系现实，最终，让学生了解学习的本质。

For a long time, in education, we have been setting up our teaching so that we can ensure our students get a "good job". But is "good job” really the ultimate goal of teaching?

With the development from one era to another, the learning environment is changing. Our world is a beautiful, complex repository of knowledge, but no one goes out to look at a tree and says, "That's a tree, so that's science" or "The sky is blue, so that's Art". Academic knowledge should not only be confined to schools and classrooms. Integrating concepts, themes, standards and assessments is a powerful way to shift the traditional course of student learning and help transform 'schools'.

STEAM education helps students open the door to the real world, put reality into teaching, connect teaching with reality, and finally, let students understand the essence of learning.

# STEAM教育的发展现状及挑战

发展现状

20 世纪 80 年代，美国国家科学委员会为了使更多的学生在高等教育阶段选择与STEM相关的学科，以保持美国在科技创新与国际竞争力上的领先地位，提出将STEM教育发展成为国家战略。但美国弗吉尼亚科技大学的教授Yakman认为，原有的STEM教育只关注项目本身（做什么和如何做），而忽略了对人本身和背景的关注（谁来做和为什么做），因此，她将艺术（Arts）与STEM进行有机融合，并在2006年提出了STEAM教育理念。

近年来，美国已逐渐形成多方参与的STEAM教育生态系统，涵盖政府、学校、课后服务提供方、高等教育机构、企业及民间组织、 STEAM资源丰富的社会机构以及家庭等多个主体，该生态系统将各个学习场景联系起来，联邦政府与各州政府的专项拨款作为STEAM教育领域资金投入的重要来源之一，为STEAM教育发展提供了强有力的支持与保障。

2014年左右，STEAM教育的理念引入我国，并掀起了我国的STEAM教育热潮。

在STEAM理念引入前，以乐高为代表的机器人教育机构实际已经在进行着STEAM教育，此后随着新政策的不断推出、新热点的驱动以及在线教育发展，STEAM教育也迎来新的发展阶段。2014-2015年是我国STEAM教育迎来爆发式发展的重要时期，2014年李克强总理在夏季达沃斯论坛上提出“大众创业，万众创新”的号召，“双创” 的兴起加速推动了国家科技创新的产业变革，同时也掀起了科创教育发展的热潮。2015年教育部在《关于“十三五”期间全面深入推进教育信息化工作的指导意见》中明确指出探索STEAM教育、创客教育等新教育模式。此后，为全面推进我国STEAM教育的发展与落地，教育部在“十三五”期间密集出台多部政策文件强化STEAM教育建设，STEAM教育逐步在全国各省市中小学得到推广。

问题和挑战

然而，尽管STEAM教育在理论和实践中都有很多优势，但在实践中，也会面临一些挑战和问题。一方面，STEAM教育需要具备多学科背景的教师来进行跨学科教学，但是目前缺少具备相关背景的教师；另一方面，实施STEAM教育需要大量的教学资源，包括硬件设备、软件、材料等，而缺乏这些资源会影响到教学的效果。

此外，STEAM教育并没有一个标准化的课程和教材，这也使得教学变得更加困难。目前中国的STEAM跨学科教育的发展还处于对美国等国家的教育实践进行简单效仿的阶段，而缺乏对中国素质教育的有机结合。这些问题都需要在实践中不断探索和解决，以推动STEAM教育的发展和进步。

在本次分论坛中，我们将会邀请国际教育嘉宾共同探讨STEAM教育及分享其在课堂中的具体实践，希望能在分享中探寻方向，突破现在。相信在未来的教育之路中，会有更多教育教学方式上的融合，让教育的过程变得更加丰富多彩。

In this panel, we will invite international education guest speakers to discuss STEAM education and share their specific practices in the classroom. We hope to explore the direction in the sharing and break through the present. I believe that in the future of education, there will be more integration of education and teaching methods, making the education process more colorful.

本科毕业于伯克利音乐学院音乐制作与创作专业，获得哈佛大学教育学院人类与发展硕士学位。曾在Acalab为多个年龄段学生策划独立交叉学科项目。教育研究侧重于音乐教育及音乐相关的交叉学科项目。

Amy Xu graduated from Berklee College of Music with a bachelors degree in Professional Music concentrating in Music Technology and a masters degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education with a focus on human development and education. She has worked on various interdisciplinary projects for students of different ages at Acalab. Her educational research focuses on music education and music-related interdisciplinary projects.

执教于天津茱莉亚音乐学院。获得哈佛大学教育硕士及英属哥伦比亚大学语言学、音乐演奏双学位学士、音乐演奏硕士。曾在加拿大、美国、瑞典、日本、台湾、尼泊尔和中国等地任教。教育研究侧重于为教育资源不足的儿童提供高质量和可持续的艺术学习及表演机会。

Anita Lee received her masters and bachelors degrees from Harvard University and The University of British Columbia specializing in music performance, linguistics, and education. Her research focuses on providing underserved children with quality and sustainable access to music learning and performance opportunities. She has worked in Canada, the U.S., Sweden, Japan, Taiwan, Nepal, and is currently a faculty at The Juilliard School (China campus).
