第58期：See eye to eye
意见看法一致
这天，Mike和小小常聊起自己刚去看了《疯狂原始人2》这部电影。
Mike
Have you guys seen this movie? What did you think of it?（你们俩看了这个电影吗？觉得怎么样？）
小小常
We have! I felt it was funny!（我们看了！我觉得这个电影很有趣啊！）
常爸
Yes! I couldn't stop laughing in the cinema like others!（同感！我在电影院里笑个不停，跟其他人一样。）
Mike
Really? I thought the movie was a little boring, but it is nice that you two see eye to eye about it.（真的吗？我觉得有点儿无聊，不过你们俩倒是see eye to eye。）
小小常
But, I didn't see my dad's eyes. I don't understand.（但是我没看爸爸的眼睛呀。你在说啥……）
常爸
Victor, when we say that we see eye to eye, it means that we agree with each other. We both thought the movie was funny!（“see eye to eye”意思是我们意见一致。因为我们都觉得电影很好看！）
小小常
Oh, I understand it now. By the way, I'm feeling like to eat some ice cream, does everyone think that is a good idea?  （我现在懂了。顺便说一下，我想吃点冰淇淋，你们呢？）
常爸
I think it is a great idea!（我双手赞成！）
Mike
Perfect! I am glad that we can see eye to eye!（太棒了！现在我们意见一致了！）
一眼看上去，see eye to eye好像是在说“我看着你的眼，你看着我的眼，咱们大眼瞪小眼。”但是从前面的对话中，我们发现并不是！这个说法其实是指人们对某个问题的看法、意见、观点完全一致。参考韦氏词典：
这个短语可以用在多个场合中。例如：
✍闺蜜或情侣之间
We always see eye to eye.
我们总是心有灵犀。
✍新闻标题中
The two parties in America did not see eye to eye on certain political issues.
美国两党在某些政治问题上意见不一致。
另外，当我们要表达和谁的意见一致时，需要把这个短语和“with”连用。例如：
About the plan for the excursion, we all
see eye to eye with
 each other.

对于郊游的计划，我们的想法不谋而合。
It is hardly possible for young people to
see eye to eye with
 their parents on political issues.

在政治问题上，年轻人几乎不可能与他们的父母看法一致。

当我们要表示就某事意见一致时，需要把这个短语和介词“on”连用。例如：
Despite their different cultural backgrounds, they
see eye to eye on
 the origin of the universe.

尽管文化背景不同，但她们对宇宙起源的观点却完全一致。
说起See eye to eye的起源，可是相当古老了。它最早出现在《圣经》的以赛亚书第52章：
The voice of thy watchmen! they lift up the voice, together do they sing; for they shall see, eye to eye, when the LORD returneth to Zion.
看哪，城上的守望者高声呼喊；他们一齐欢呼！他们要亲眼看见，上主回到锡安了。
在这段文字中，see eye to eye表示亲眼看见。后来，这个短语的含义逐渐演变为“立场与看法一致”。
与see eye to eye类似的表达还有：
● on the same page 进度相同；达成共识
I just want to make sure we're on the same page.（我只是想确定我们大家观点一致。）
● I second that. 我也这么想。
当你的看法与别人一样时，就可以说：I second that.  “second”是第二，用在这里表示我同意第一个人说的话，适合用在日常生活中，比如：
A: Let's get pizza for dinner. （我们晚上叫披萨吧。）
B: I second that. （好，我同意。）
所以，下次当你想表达“我赞成......”时，只记得“I agree…”，也给今天学过的其他几个表达一些出场机会吧！
