Directions: Write an essay of 160-200 words based on the pictures below. In your essay, you should
1）describe the picture briefly, 
2）interpret the implied meaning, and 
3）give your comments.
很明显，三段论：
第一段，描述漫画内容。
第二段，分析漫画含义。
第三段，发表评论。
下面带大家逐段逐句分析，看看每句写什么、用哪些句型。
01
第一段
第一段用 1-2 句描述漫画内容，可从“人物+动作+环境+对话”角度入手，使用以下句型：
第一种最简单：In the picture, sb do sth.
可以在 picture 前加 thought-provoking, revealing, insightful 修饰。
在 sb 后面加定语从句who...、后置定语 V-ing 或 V-ed、with...结构，描述动作细节、神态、样貌等。（没有就不写，不要硬写）
以2022年考研英语一为例：
In the thought-provoking picture, two girls, dressed in skirts and T-shirts, stand before a bulletin board with a poster on it that announces a campus lecture.
第二种是：The picture shows sb who...
show 后面跟人物（名词），人物后面通过 who...定语从句补充人物动作。也可以把 who...定语从句改成后置定语 V-ing 或 V-ed.
可以在 picture 前加形容词 thought-provoking, revealing, insightful 修饰，把 show 替换成 reveal, feature, portray, depict, illustrate，提高语言水平。
以2005年考研作文为例：
The thought-provoking picture portrays four siblings who guard four different goalposts, kicking their middle-aged father around like a football, each unwilling to let the "football" enter their own goalpost.
第三种更高级一点：As (is) shown in the picture, sb do sth
可以把 show 换成 reveal, portray, depict, illustrate 等词。
picture 前也可以加上那些形容词修饰。
sb 后面可以加定语从句who...、后置定语 V-ing 或 V-ed、with...结构，描述动作细节、神态、样貌等。（没有就不写，不要硬写）
以2019年考研英语一为例：
As is depicted in the thought-provoking picture, two men are making their way to the mountain's peak. The man on the right, visibly exhausted, sits on a stone step, exclaiming, "I'm tired, I won't climb anymore." The other man responds by advising a short break before resuming their climb.
第四种句式最高级：Illustrated in the picture is/are sb who...
这是个倒装，Illustrated 可以换成 Portrayed / Depicted 等，picture 也可以用 cartoon / image 替换。
sb 后面可以加 who...定语从句，或 with...结构，补充人物的动作行为。
以2020年考研英语一为例：
Illustrated in the picture are two individuals, with the girl diligently applying herself to her assignments, striving to finish them as early as possible, whereas the boy idles away his time at the desk, expressing a hint of frustration with the declaration, "I won't take action until the last minute."
两张图对比的，中间一定要加上 by/in contrast、conversely、whereas 等转折词。

第二段
第二段分析漫画含义，其中第1句点出主题，比如漫画的主题是“习惯”，第一句话中要点出 habit，如果漫画的内容是“养老”，第一句话要点出 taking care of the aged……可以用到的句型有：
  1. The picture serves as a reminder that...
  2. The picture brings home to us sth（让人们意识到，sth可以放在brings后面，也可以放在us后面）
  3. What stands out in the cartoon is the significance of...
  4. The cartoon conveys a powerful message about...
  5. Were one to analyze the cartoon in depth, it would become evident that...
第二个容易用错，是 brings home to us，不是 brings us to home，有同学用错了，吐槽说阅卷老师看不懂给扣分。不是别人看不懂，是自己用错了。
还有，brings home to us 后面加的是名词，不是 that...从句，比如2020年考研英语一，第二段第一句可以这样说：
The picture brings home to us the importance of habits.
最后一个是倒装句型，原型是：If one were to analyze the cartoon in depth, it would become evident that...
if引导的现在时虚拟从句，be动词用were（不管是单数还是复数）。省略if，把be动词前置，构成倒装。
举个例子，2005年考研作文，第二段开头可以这么说：
Were one to analyze the cartoon in depth, it would become evident that it criticizes the act of adult children dodging the responsibility of taking care of their elderly family members.
这个句型有难度，对“if虚拟倒装”掌握不好的同学不建议用。考试第一要义是“稳”，稳中求进。
写完第1句，接下来第2-3句要展开分析，比如谈一谈品质的重要性。

第三段
第三段需要自己发挥，第1句引出自己的观点，可以用到我们之前讲过的句型，传送门：
“我认为...”还可以怎么说？丨外刊写作句型
不要再说 I think、As far as I'm concerned 了。
第2-3句要结合具体的场景，对第1句进行展开，可按照以下思路：
生活中会遇到...困难，但拥有[品质]，我们会克服...困难。
英语是：
In the pursuit of [目标], there will be moments of weariness and doubt. However, with [品质], we can...
第4-5句可分析原因或做法（视内容而定），分析原因时可以用到的句型有：
外刊中有哪些表示原因的清新脱俗的表达？(上)
外刊中有哪些表示原因的清新脱俗的表达？(下)
提出做法可使用以下句型：
如何提出自己的建议或方案？
写作中如何给出方案
越剧《新龙门客栈》火到一票难求丨传统文化专栏（文末的“敲黑板”部分）
再补充几个：
  1. To tackle these challenges, it is crucial to prioritize...
  2. X and Y are essential steps in addressing...
  3. As individuals, we can draw inspiration from this scene, recognizing the power of...
如果你分析的原因或做法内容较多，可以分“一二三条”，用上昨天讲过的句型：
“首先”“其次”除了 Firstly, Secondly 还可以怎么说？丨写作表达
最后，第6句进行总结，可以用到的句型有：
  1. In doing so, society can...
  2. Only in this way, can we...
