Last week, Lu Yuyan, a student from the Shanghai Thomas School, received a pre-admission letter from Imperial College, a G5 prestigious school ranked 5th in the world by QS 2024.

回忆起帝国理工的面试经历，陆雨嫣仍旧历历在目：“虽然是面试，但我感觉就像是在跟教授聊天一样，一点都不紧张，甚至有一种很熟悉的感觉。”其实，这份驾轻就熟和淡定从容的背后，是陆雨嫣和上海安生老师们整整四年的心血和付出。

Recalling the interview experience at Imperial College, Lu Yuyan still vividly remembers: "Although it was an interview, I felt like I was chatting with a professor. I was not nervous at all, and even felt very familiar." In fact, behind the calmness is the hard work and dedication of Lu Yuyan and her STS teachers for the last four years.

我们在“后台”为你撑腰
陆雨嫣录取的是帝国理工生物医学科技风投专业。在当初选择专业时，陆雨嫣其实一脸迷茫，对学校和专业都不甚了解，压根不知道该选什么。升学指导俞越老师就结合学科成绩、兴趣爱好，以及霍兰德测试结果，帮助她初步敲定了专业方向。随后，俞老师还将所有相关的，好的学校，好的专业都罗列了出来，带着她一遍遍地进行筛选，最终敲定了帝国理工生物医学科技风投这一新兴专业。

Lu Yuyan was admitted to the Biomedical Technology Ventures major at Imperial College London. When she first chose her major, Lu Yuyan was actually confused. She didn’t know much about the school or major, and she didn’t know what to choose. Teacher Yu Yue, her college counselor, helped her decide on her major direction based on her academic performance, interests and hobbies, as well as the results of the Holland Career Assessment. Later, Teacher Yu also listed all the prestigious schools and relevant majors, and took her through the screening over and over again, and finally settled on the emerging major of Biomedical Technology Ventures at Imperial College.

升学俞越老师为陆雨嫣做升学指导

王寅主任为陆雨嫣做面试辅导
陆雨嫣回忆道，面试的前一周里，每位老师都在加班加点地为她进行集中性的面试辅导。王寅主任除了为她传授面试技巧外，还围绕创业板块，帮助她深入了解如何建立公司，如何找到合作伙伴，大公司和小公司的利弊等等。“辅导的内容真是太有用了，居然有两道就是面试的题目！”陆雨嫣欣喜地告诉我们。

Lu Yuyan recalled that in the week before the interview, every teacher worked overtime to provide intensive interview coaching for her. In addition to teaching her interview skills, Director Wang Yin also focused on the entrepreneurial sector to help her gain an in-depth understanding of how to build a company, how to find partners, the pros and cons of large companies and small companies, etc. “The content of the tutoring is really useful, and there are actually two interview questions!” Lu Yuyan told us happily.

上海安生各学科老师为陆雨嫣做面试准备
各学科组的老师也都在倾尽所能，为陆雨嫣提供专业辅导。考虑到申请文书中所提到的“防摔保护检测仪”肯定是面试被提问的重点，物理老师邓铮铮每天都在帮她运用物理学理论做产品剖析，分析产品的数据计算；数学组徐淳和徐红梅两位老师特别整理了大学笔记，帮助她反复进行函数画图训练；英语老师闫伟帮她系统地进行着英语知识点的复习和听力口语的突击训练；生物老师刘家锟用讲故事的方式为她一遍遍地过着生物知识，让她在紧张的备考过程中也不觉得枯燥乏味……

Teachers in various subject groups are also doing their best to provide professional guidance to Lu Yuyan. Considering that the "anti-fall protection detector" mentioned in her application would likely be the focus of questions during the interview, physics teacher Deng Zhengzheng helped her use physics theories to do product analysis and analyze product data calculations every day; Two teachers from the Maths Department, Xu Chun and Xu Hongmei, specially compiled college notes to help her repeatedly practice function drawing training; biology teacher Liu Jiakun used storytelling to teach her biology knowledge over and over again, so that she would not feel bored during the intense preparation process.

“i”人变成“e”人
面试不仅是对学科知识的考察，更是口头表达能力和人际沟通能力的一次考验。如果时间倒退到9年级刚进安生的时候，陆雨嫣肯定不敢相信，四年后的自己会变得如此侃侃而谈。陆雨嫣说自己其实一直都是个“i”人，有点小社恐，害怕与人沟通。陆雨嫣坦言：“安生四年的锻炼让我从一个‘i’人变成了‘e’人”。

The interview is not only an examination of subject knowledge, but also a test of oral expression and interpersonal communication skills. If time went back to when she was in ninth grade and had just entered STS, Lu Yuyan would definitely not believe that she would become so talkative four years later. Lu Yuyan said that she has always been an "i" person, a little social-phobic and afraid of communicating with others.

烘焙社出品
转变源于pre年级时的一次校园烘焙社招新。自主发起成立烘焙社的她，面临着一个巨大的挑战：招募烘焙社组员。“单打独斗”的她不得不硬着头皮完成了那次宣讲，并成功招募到数十名组员。从那以后，陆雨嫣开启了从“i”人走向“e”人的转变之旅。

The change originated from recruitment for the campus baking club when she was in her Pre-grade year. After setting up a baking club on her own initiative, she faced a huge challenge: recruiting baking club members. Working alone, she successfully finished the presentation and successfully recruited dozens of club members. Since then, Lu Yuyan has embarked on a journey of transformation from an "i" person to an "e" person.

咖啡吧PBL小组
在咖啡吧PBL项目里，她和小组成员密切合作，无论是与小组成员的沟通，还是与陌生顾客的沟通，都让她在社交时不再恐惧，愿意也敢于与大家交流。而担任了一年半的学生会主席后，她已经能非常游刃有余地与同学、老师、校领导打交道了。如今的她，在兼顾学业的同时，还忙着统筹学校迎新集市，修订学生公约，成为了同学和学校之间沟通的桥梁和纽带。

In the coffee bar PBL project, she worked closely with group members. Whether it was communicating with group members or communicating with unfamiliar customers, she no longer feared social interaction and was willing and dared to communicate with everyone. After serving as the student union president for a year and a half, she has become very comfortable in dealing with classmates, teachers, and school leaders. Today, while taking care of her studies, she is also busy coordinating the school's orientation fair and revising the student convention, becoming a bridge and link between classmates and the school.

Lu Yuyan has a dream. She hopes that through her own efforts, she can introduce first-class medical equipment to China so that more elderly people in the country can receive advanced medical assistance and help them live a healthy and peaceful old age. We are delighted that Lu Yuyan cares about her motherland.
