Announcement of the 2022 “3rd Globe-Law Cup”International Arbitration Writing Contest

The Beijing Globe-Law Law Firm (Globe-Law) is now looking for submissions in the 2022 “3rd Globe-Law Cup”International Arbitration Writing Contest. The purpose of this competition is to encourage younger generation of professionals interested in international arbitration to seize opportunities to practice writing and prepare for their future careers. We believe participation of this event will help law students to sharpen their research and writing skills in the field of arbitration. We hope the event will provide professionals in the field of international arbitration with a platform to effectively communicate and exchange ideas.

As a comprehensive and international law firm with its main office based in Beijing, Globe-Law has been persistently hosting events related to international arbitration, providing our colleagues and professionals in the field with a solid platform of effective communication. Many of our senior partners are experienced arbitrators from well-known arbitration institutions such as the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center.

1.Topic, Eligibility and Requirements:

1)The topic of the writing shall be in connection with International Arbitration.

2)The writing contest is open to all practitioners, scholars, and students. Submissions should be between 3,000 and 12,000 words, inclusive of footnotes. Co-authored submissions are permissible. All submissions should be in English and must be in conformity with established citation and reference styles, such as the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA).

3)Submissions are to be emailed as an attached Word document to [email protected], with the subject “Submission for Globe-Law Writing Contest 2021”.

4)Submissions should be limited to academic papers, case studies, and research reports that have not been published in any form, including online.

5)Participants should ensure that the submission is original work.

2.Deadline for Submission:

August 31, 2022.

3.Prizes:

1)Prize-winner will have priority internship and study opportunities at Globe-Law.

2)All participants may be invited to join us in the arbitration salon and related activities at Globe-Law.

3)Globe-Law will sponsor high quality articles to seek publication in Chinese and international law journals.

4)Certain amount of cash reward.
