圣诞花篮爱心传递 - CAAL圣诞基金

目的

在美国各地，数以百万计的人们正被持续的疫情所困扰。面对失去工作、失去收入、饥饿和无力支付账单等挑战，他们被迫在基本生活必需品之间做出艰难的取舍。2020年标志着自政府开始跟踪以来最显著的贫困急升（800万人陷入贫困）；710万美国人拖欠房租；有2000万美国人没有足够的食物可吃。疫情导致的贫困远未结束。为善举筹款，请帮助支持 "CAAL圣诞基金"。

Purpose:

Across the country, millions of Americans are reeling from the ongoing impacts of the Pandemic. Faced with challenges including job and income loss, hunger, and the inability to pay bills, they’re being forced to make difficult decisions between basic necessities. Pandemic poverty is having a profound impact on the stability of American families. 2020 marks the most significant poverty spike since the government began tracking it (8 million people have fallen into poverty); 7.1 million Americans are behind on rent; and 20 million Americans do not have enough food to eat. The poverty caused by the Pandemic is far from over. To raise money for a good cause, please help support the CAAL Santa Fund.

活动内容

从今年12月开始，莱克星顿华协慷慨支持本地的 "CAAL圣诞基金"，该基金的设立是为了帮助莱镇和周边社区有需要的家庭在节日里得到帮助，“CAAL圣诞基金”分两个步骤：首先，由我们的志愿者向社区征集现金、礼物等，制作出20个精美的圣诞礼物花篮，每个花篮价值从200美元到300美元之间。第二、将这些花篮在莱镇公共场所摆放展示，吸引更多的民众购买彩票中奖。所有筹得款项将捐赠给救世军和莱克星敦市政厅社区服务处，通过他们，再以礼物或食品券的形式将钱分发给我们社区中有需要的家庭。

Activities:

Starting this December, the Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL) generously supports the local "CAAL Santa Fund", established to help families from Lexington and the surrounding community that needs assistance during the holidays. The "CAAL Santa Fund" is a two-step program:

First, our volunteers collect cash and gifts from the community to create 20 Christmas Themed Baskets. Second, these Baskets will be displayed in public places in Lexington for raffle ticketing.

This fund will distribute the money to families in need in our community through gifts and food vouchers with the help of The Salvation Army and Lexington Town Hall Community Services.

具体操作

● 花篮的筹集：总共需要20个篮子，所以我们召集60名义工，3人一组，每组负责做出一个圣诞礼物花篮。义工组可以是邻居组，同学组或自由组合。小组成员自行决定如何募集捐款和礼物（未拆封的闲置礼物）。我们做过试点，就是去敲邻居的门，宣传我们的计划，筹集钱物，敲十家门可以筹集100元。所以花篮可以注上“某社区捐赠”，这样社区会有集体参与感，在花篮展示时可以进行趣味地社区拉票，同时也激励明年社区积极参与，为延续性打下基础。

● 花篮的制作：有圣诞节日气氛的每个花篮，其礼物主题可以是关于健康、出行、电子游戏、现金、彩票、工具、自我保健、影视等。如下图，礼物精致，包装精美，才能更好地销售自己。

● 花篮的展示：选择镇上有代表性、人集中的地方做为期2周的展示。二个周末和一个半周中时间，从12月11日到12月24日，地点像图书馆、高中、BOA、超市等，大约选6-7个地方，每天在一个地点，时长2-3个小时，展示花篮，让路人参与选择自已喜欢的花篮，买Raffle tickets奖票投票；同时，网上投票启动；抽奖券每张卖2美元，5张10美元，12张20美元。奖票上留下姓名与电话。

Specific operation:

● Basket collection: a total of 20 baskets are needed, so we call 60 volunteers, 3 for a group, each group is responsible for making a Christmas-themed basket. The baskets can be marked with "a community donation".

● Basket display: we will choose public places in town with a high concentration of people for a 2-week display. Allow people to participate Raffle tickets to vote; online voting also available; raffle tickets sold for $2 each. Your name and phone number will be left on the ticket.

● Raffle drawing: On December 24, the Chinese American Association of Lexington will conduct a live drawing for every basket. A list of winners, a link to the raffle video, and instructions on how to claim your prize will be available on December 24.

Donation: All funds raised from this event will be donated to the Salvation Army and Lexington Township Community Services. Winners who wish to donate their baskets can have the CAAL Santa Fund help donate them to the Town of Lexington's Fire Department or Police Department.

抽奖

12月24日，莱克星顿华协(CAAL)将进行现场抽奖，从每个花篮的所有奖票里随机地抽出一张。获奖者名单、抽奖视频的链接以及如何领取奖品的说明将在12月24日或之后提供。本次活动筹集的所有资金将捐赠给救世军和莱克星敦镇社区服务。中奖者如果愿意捐出他们的花篮，CAAL圣诞基金可以协助捐给莱镇的消防局或警局。

Luck draw:

On December 24, Lexington Chinese Association will conduct an on-site lucky draw and randomly draw one ticket from all the tickets in each flower basket. The list of winners, a link to the raffle video and instructions on how to collect the prize will be provided on or after December 24. All funds raised for this event will be donated to the Salvation Army and Lexington town community service. If the winners are willing to donate their flower baskets, CAAL Christmas fund can help donate them to the fire department or police station in Lai town.
