Today, while eating dinner, I discussed two things with my two kids:
1, the innocence of Kyle Rittenhouse, and
2, a certain Chinese girl from Philadelphia.
Both of them had heard of these two things. The innocent verdict, however, they had just found out.
The case in Philadelphia, likewise, was still under discussion.
For the sake of space, each of these things will be given its own article.
Not Guilty!
On November 19, the Kenosha jury in Wisconsin reached a consensus.
All 5 charges against Kyle Rittenhouse were found not guilty!
Prior to this, the prosecution had withdrawn 2 charges in advance, and all 7 charges were effectively deemed innocent.
This verdict is the most inspiring news in recent times.
In truth, anyone with common sense who has watched the videos of the case can draw but one conclusion. That conclusion, being:
In this incident, Kyle did nothing wrong.
He exercised the rights to self-defense granted by God, and the Constitution.
The right to self-defense is precisely the embodiment of the American spirit.
American Spirit
Regarding this case, if you watched the video of the incident, you would see Kyle being chased for a distance by the mob—with his muzzle down.
When the mob tried to grab his gun,
——He had to shoot in self-defense.
You would see the mob using a skateboard to strike Kyle, who fell to the ground;
——He had to shoot in self-defense.
You would see one of them aiming a pistol at point-blank, at which Kyle aimed at his arm and
——Shot, in self-defense.
——Not to mention, it was later found that the three thugs shot were all white men with records of serious crimes.
Therefore, what I really discussed with my kids was just that:
the American Spirit.
The American Spirit began with the Puritans crossing the perilous sea, to reach the New World.
It ebbs and flows through words such as Freedom, Equality, Courage, Self-defense, Competition, Rights, Adventure, Innovation, Pioneering, and Enterprise.
Due to freedom, one is brave and fearless.
Due to freedom, chose to fire shots to defend himself, founding his own world within a barbaric new world.
The core of the American Spirit lies in “freedom”.
It lies not in “democracy”;
——Democracy is just a system, used to manage society.
The pursuit of freedom leads to the best possible version of democracy.
The democratic system is the "least worst" system.
Likewise, the right to self-defense is an inevitable product of the American Spirit’s freedom.
The Right to Self-Defense
The pursuit of freedom determined that the U.S. created a limited government from an established colony.
——Because the power of the government is formed by the people surrendering part of their rights.
People who pursue freedom must give up their rights at a minimum, to ensure that their government will not erode their freedoms.
The limits of government power mean that people must take up self-defense by themselves.
As time progresses, more and more security is managed by the police.
However, whether it's the Supreme Court's decision that “police do not have a constitutional duty to protect” you or the Second Amendment's right to bear arms,
——It all shows that the right to self-defense is indispensable.
Without the right to self-defense, there would be no “freedom”of the American Spirit.
Without this spirit of self-defense, there wouldn't have existed colonial militias, and the battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775 would have ceased to exist.
The United States as it is today would be impossible.
Therefore, behind Kyle's case—a hero in his own right—is really the question of whether the American people can continue to uphold the American Spirit and the right to self-defense, under the frenzied attacks of the left.
Rights and Powers
We know that Limited Government is a virtue for the right conservatives, and a vice for the left progressives.
The right to self-defense with arms——derived from Limited Government ,
have always been a focus of leftist attacks.
——This is the left's long-standing proposition of “banning guns”, and therefore banning self-defense.
For example, in the case of the hero Kyle, the leftist prosecution tried to accuse him of “illegal possession of a gun”from the very beginning; Kyle, in fact, was under legal possession of a gun, so the prosecutor had to immediately retract the accusation.
The leftist school of thought (Big government), which is opposed to the foundation of the United States (Limited government), has been trying to revoke the people's right to self-defense and put the people under the tyrannical gaze of big government.
Note that once the rights of the people are handed over, they are transformed into weapons of destruction and power for the government.
The difference between right and power is that free exercise does not exist in the latter.
When the free exercise of a right of an individual no longer exists, it means that the government has gained this control and the individual has lost the right.
Revoking the people's right to self-defense will cause a widespread panic, as their sense of security is no longer under their control. It becomes a slippery slope, and more and more rights will have to be surrendered.
Observe the left's behavior from this perspective, and you will find them
——Laissez-faire crime, creating panic, reducing the police force and restricting the rights to self-defense of the people.
You will see that the left has more compassion for criminals, and less for law-abiding people.
——Why? Because the left wants those individual rights, which the law-abiding people have not yet surrendered.
Their ultimate goal is to continue to drive the people to surrender more rights using panic,
thus making the power of the “big government”even more powerful.
Chinese American Understanding
We must admit that much of our Chinese school of thought does not truly understand freedom.
Since the Qin Dynasty established a highly autocratic imperial system from top to bottom, the Chinese have never truly experienced “freedom” in their long history.
And the "Xia"(侠) corresponding to the "chivalry" of the Western world has also rapidly degraded, deteriorated.
"Xia"(侠) finally became a kind of adult fairy tale, something that only exists in fable and story.
Not the spirit that guides us in today's reality.
Therefore, the many Chinese who come to the United States are actually very uncomfortable.
Many people are used to being ruled, not having rule.
They're used to surrendering rights for “security”, instead of thinking about how to use your rights to self-defense and how to protect each other.
Therefore, the Chinese American will easily accept the “banning gun” proposition.
——Even though the Chinese are physically weaker on average than many other ethnic groups, and guns are the best tool to make up for this weakness.
However, many Chinese are afraid of guns.
——Deep down inside, they are afraid of the right to self-defense, afraid of “the heavy burden” of "free choice".
They are used to surrendering rights, used to living under the oppression of the “big government”.
Because of this, many Chinese flock to the deep blue cities of this country,
In addition to the practical reasons for survival, there are also reasons for the inability to understand "freedom" in their ways of thinking.
——Why are the Chinese more left than right? This is the root cause.
No Looking Back
Often when recommending my customers to upgrade their old hard disk drives (HDD) to solid state drives (SSD), I tell them this:
“Try it, and when you do, you'll never look back. You'll never use that again.”
Freedom is the same.
The right to self-defense, to bear arms, is the same.
Learn to hold a gun, and when you do, you'll never go back to the leftist thoughts of handing over rights for “security”.
Moreover, only by learning to wield a gun, can we truly start to understand American gun culture, and the American Spirit behind it—only through this can we understand freedom.
PS:
People who have studied guns will never make such mistakes as Thomas Binger, the prosecutor of this case.
The 4 fundamental principles of safety for wielding guns:
1. Always treat your gun as loaded.
2. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot.
3. Never point your muzzle at anything you don't want to destroy.
4. Observe what is on, around and beyond your target.
Funny thing is, when the prosecutor picked up the gun, he was facing the jury and absurdly placed his finger right in the trigger area.
Such an act immediately exposed the Democratic prosecutor's complete idiocy in terms of gun safety.
As an idiot prosecutor who didn't even know how to safe holding  a gun,his crazy statements left a “deep impression” on the members of the jury, and the final unanimous verdict was “not guilty”.
——He was, for the left, the very definition of a “pig teammate”.
