Summary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work on applications where C++ is used for computational heavy-lifting and for applications that have critical, low-latency processes such as trading strategies. 

  • Get maximum performance out of multi-core, super-scalar processors. 
  • No previous experience in finance or trading is required. Training and continuous education is provided for all engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to be successful.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related field completed upon employment
  • Experience programming in C++

  • Experience with several of the following -- distributed systems, networking, data structures & algorithms, and operating systems
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to scripting and rudimentary data mining and regression analysis, ideally in Python with Pandas and Numpy
  • Ability to communicate with the trading team, obtain requirements, find solutions and implement them in a clean and concise way
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Must be graduating in Summer 2022 or prior
  • Major GPA of 3.0 or above

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work within the Data Ops team, gaining expertise through building highly automated provisioning, monitoring and operational capabilities for data at Akuna 
  • Support the ongoing growth, design and expansion of our data platform across a wide variety of data sources, enabling large scale support across an array of streaming, near real-time and research workflows 
  • Operate the data platform to ensure key SLAs are managed across a wide range of producers and consumers 
  • Build and run essential monitoring infrastructure supporting many of the most important data pipelines at the firm

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD in technical field – Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or equivalent completed upon employment
  • 1-3 years of professional experience developing and operating automation, monitoring and management solutions

  • Prior hands-on experience with data platforms and technologies such as Kafka, Delta Lake, Spark, Elastic Search

  • Previous experience with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack etc.)

  • Demonstrated involvement with a leading cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

  • Strong knowledge and usage of containerization and container orchestration technologies, like Docker, Kubernetes and Argo is a plus

  • Experience writing and maintaining automation scripts.

Summary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Learn to write high performance C# applications.
  • Help develop and fine tune our existing systems and work towards developing our next-gen UI solutions.
  • The UI team uses C# to create multithreaded user interfaces which handle high volumes of data and provide traders with a real-time view of the markets.
  • Build applications that aid traders in understanding market conditions, assessing risk and managing other components in our system. 
  • The ideal C# Development candidate would have experience using a C-style object-oriented programming language: C#, Java, and/or C++.
  • Write Python-powered back-ends and dynamic JavaScript front-ends.
  • Use Javascript (React.js, Redux and more) and Python (with Tornado).

  • Help improve our existing visualization tools and develop new and innovative ways of displaying key information to traders, providing them with real-time applications to assist them in making accurate decisions.
  • Build tools to aid traders in managing volatility, assessing risk, and fine-tuning the parameters of our system.
  • The ideal Web Development candidate will have experience using a modern web programming language:  Javascript, Python, and/or experience with HTML/CSS. Familiarity with REST interfaces, WebSockets / Server push, Linux, git, scrum etc. is also a plus.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related field completed upon employment
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with network and concurrent programming is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate with the team to develop innovative solutions
  • Knowledge of / willingness to learn about finance (derivatives, exchanges, market-making etc.)
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently
  • Major GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must be graduating Summer 2022 or prior
