独立宣言是1776年美国人民书面反抗殖民的行动之一。美国的每一个城镇都在讨论自由对他们的意义：如何处理官方宣言中表达的不满情绪？文件最后的词汇对于他们意味着什么？民众将如何反应？

这个活动将回答这些问题。

“独立宣言：今与夕”是自由之路国家遗产区举办的一个相关展览。听穿着历史服装的再现者朗读独立宣言；了解这些文字背后的意义；并认真思考过去250年我们如何坚持又或者放弃了其中的理念。

莱镇园艺俱乐部自1876年成立以来，一直为美化莱镇社区的环境做出了积极的贡献。

俱乐部的50多名成员贡献了大量的时间和精力来美化和维护莱镇的20多个公园和路边交通岛。听园丁大师雪莉.亨德森(Shelly Henderson) 和主持人阿什利. 鲁尼(Ashley Rooney)讲述他们的工作，以及一些适合种植于繁忙街道的绿化植物。

Embracing Abstraction

Embracing Abstraction 将展示由评审专家Nella Lush 挑选出来的LexArt会员的一系列作品。展览中的所有作品具有抽象元素或以之主题。参观者既能找到具有抽象设计的功能性作品，也能观看到抽象绘画、摄影，探索具有抽象元素的珠宝和装饰品，并在各种媒体中发现抽象的三维作品。入选的会员艺术家来自不同的背景；他们有教育家、家庭工作室艺术家、工艺团体成员、知名专业人士和新兴艺术家。除了展览中的评审作品外，画廊礼品区还提供具有抽象主题的零售物品。

7 月 11 日星期日（下午 2:00 至下午 4:00）举办网上艺术家招待会， Nella Lush 会在3:00pm 发表题为“尊重抽象艺术”的演讲。

From its inception in 1876, the Lexington Field & Garden Club has been making a positive mark on the environment. Today, over 50 members of the club donate considerable time and effort to beautify and maintain over twenty of Lexington’s parks and traffic islands. Master Gardener Shelly Henderson and moderator Ashley Rooney will describe their work and some of the plants that can withstand busy streets.

The Association of Black Citizens of Lexington (ABCL) is hosting the first annual Quock Walker Day Hike for Freedom. This intergenerational event is an opportunity for Lexington residents and other friends of liberty to celebrate Massachusetts Emancipation Day while enjoying the sites along ACROSS Lexington Route M. ACROSS Lexington Route M is an approximately 3.3-mile looped trail.

Lexington Arts and Crafts Society (LexArt) would like to extend an invitation to all our artisan members and instructors to submit artworks to Reflection/Reawakening/Resilience, an exhibition meant to celebrate our collective reemergence, reflect on our shared experience, and look to the future. LexArt is inviting artists and instructors from neighboring community arts organizations to join us in a celebratory exhibit to open our new Molly Harding Nye Gallery and usher in a hopeful new era of mutual support and collaboration.

We have invited six other area arts organizations to participate as well and are hoping for an extended community-wide celebration.
