Summary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work on defining and improving evaluation systems of the autonomous behavior
  • Leverage PyTorch to train machine-learned models for evaluation
  • Define datasets suitable for evaluation and work on the automation of their creation
  • Build tools and infrastructure to understand the quality and representativeness of our metrics
  • Collaborate with the frontend team to build the right UI for the users to consume self-explanatory measurement reports
  • Collaborate with the simulation team to ensure the metrics can be evaluated

  • Collaborate with the motion planning team to define the right metrics, and to improve the autonomous driving performance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to produce production-quality C++ and Python code
  • Strong background in math, algorithms, and data structures
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotic, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, or related field
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop analytical frameworks and business metrics to measure performance with statistical rigor
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, program managers, operations and leadership to translate data insights into decisions and action
  • Find opportunities for efficiency improvements in the Autonomous program

  • Ownership over data from instrumentation to executive-facing dashboards
  • Author scalable ETL pipeline workflows using Airflow. 
  • Write advanced SQL for BigQuery to compute metrics or failure modes across large time-series data
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in a quantitative field - advanced degrees are preferred
  • Industry experience in a data science or analytics role
  • Proficiency in SQL - able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets
  • Experience in programming, especially with data science and visualization libraries (Python preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners
