赛事里程：5英里

日期：有史以来爱国者节的跑步赛事都是在4月19日上午10点举行，但今年所有参与者可以在8天内（4月12-19号）完成5英里的赛程

地球日活动

1.做一个两分钟的测验看看你对垃圾的回收到底了解多少。

2.和建筑师兼雕塑家Bill Turville一起做一个大雕塑（13-18岁）。

3.我们还要建一个8英尺长的物件来装垃圾，装那些无法回收或无法通过堆肥处理而只好送去填埋或焚烧的垃圾。

4.将回收材料制成艺术品（任何年龄）我们会提供原材料让大家做成装饰物件，让您用自己的行动来支持再生利用。

莱镇Cary图书馆重新开放

自2021年4月27日起，Cary图书馆将重新开放，读者们可以进入馆内浏览书籍。为了保障馆内工作人员和公众的安全，这段时间，图书馆的服务项目将会很有限。图书馆大楼开放日暂定于周二到周六（时间表如下）。馆内要求所有人必须佩戴口罩，整个楼里都提供洗手液。

您是不是刚刚开始学习种菜？有没有觉得播种很难？Mary Rose Scozzafava是一位有丰富经验的私家花园园丁，她也是莱镇社区农场的董事会成员。她将和Ashley Rooney一起为您分享一些她们的种植秘诀，告诉您怎样从种子开始打造您的菜园，怎样避免一些播种时容易犯的常见错误。

Enjoy a garden tour of a house here in Lexington.Be inspired by a wealth of horticultural delights with Janet Erickson and Ashley Rooney. They will take you on a tour of mature gardens with lovely water features, garden ornaments, & incredible flowers. - right here in Lexington.

April 22nd is EARTH DAY. It is also school vacation week! Take a moment to learn about how you can be part of the Zero Waste movement with one of our activities.

Be empowered!  Have fun!  Below are some ways we hope to help you do both this month.Take a two-minute quiz to see how much you know about recycling. Build a giant sculpture (ages 13 - 18) with architect and sculptor, Bill Turville.  We will be creating an 8 ft. wire earth to hold trash.  Our goal is to fill it with items that are not able to be recycled or composted, and will go to a landfill or incinerator.  Create art out of recycled materials (all ages!).  We will have supplies on hand to make ornaments in our own effort to support reusability.  

There is a walking labyrinth behind the munroe center for the arts, and it is in the back corner.

The Cary Library building will reopen for browsing beginning Tuesday, April 27, 2021. In order to help ensure the safety of our staff and of the public, services will be very limited during this time. Under this phase of our Restoration of Services Plan, the library building will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays (see schedule below). All floors will be open for safe materials browsing; masks are required and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.

Starting Your Vegetable Garden from Seed

Do you struggle to raise seeds successfully? Are you a beginner gardener? Mary Rose Scozzafava, a veteran home gardener & board member of Lexington Community Farm, &Ashley Rooney will share tips on how start your vegetable garden from seed & how to avoid common mistakes when starting seeds.
