On September 14th, The Embassy of the United States, Beijing issued an official statement, confirming that United States Ambassador to China Terry Branstad would retire as Ambassador to China and leave Beijing in early October. Terry Branstad later confirmed the statement.
9月17日上午11点，美国驻华大使泰里·布兰斯塔德在美国驻华大使馆举行记者会，布兰斯塔德大使在会上发表简短讲话，并就中美关系和大使本人过去三年多在中国的工作和生活接受记者提问。（详情请关注后续报道）
At 11am, September 17th，United States Ambassador to China Terry Branstad held a press conference at the Embassy of the United States, Beijing, at which Ambassador Branstad made a brief speech. He also took questions from reporters on Sino-US relations and the ambassador's own work and life in China over the past three years.
