14日，上海市人民政府外事办公室发布声明，宣布立即解除与布拉格市友城关系并暂停一切官方往来。

Shanghai has terminated its sister-city relationship with Prague, the city's Foreign Affairs Office said Tuesday.

The city government of Prague repeatedly made wrong moves on Taiwan and other major issues concerning China's core interests, grossly interfered in China's internal affairs, and openly violated the one-China principle. The municipal government and people of Shanghai strongly condemn and protest against the behavior of Prague, the office said in a statement.

声明指出，布拉格当局在台湾等涉及中方核心利益的重大问题上屡次采取错误行动，粗暴干涉中国内政，公然挑战一个中国原则，上海市政府和人民对此表示强烈谴责和严正抗议。

As the political preconditions and foundation no longer exist for exchanges between the two cities, the statement said Shanghai will immediately terminate its sister-city relationship and suspend all official exchanges with Prague.

声明表示，考虑到两市开展交往的政治前提和基础已不复存在，上海市人民政府授权上海市人民政府外事办公室郑重声明：上海市立即解除与布拉格市友城关系并暂停一切官方往来。

Mutual respect, equality and mutual benefits are the foundation of the relationship between China and the Czech Republic, said the statement. It urged the city government of Prague to recognize its mistake at an early date, take concrete actions to eliminate the negative impact and return to the one-China principle.

声明最后强调，相互尊重、平等互利是中捷关系的基础。敦促布拉格市政当局早日认识错误，以实际行动消除负面影响，回到一个中国原则上来。

不只是上海，去年10月9日，北京就解除与捷克布拉格市友城关系。

北京市外办在声明中称，2018年11月以来，捷克布拉格市新一届市政当局主要官员等人，无视国际关系基本准则和国际社会共识，不顾中方严正立场和强烈反对，屡屡在台湾、涉藏等涉及中方核心利益的重大问题上采取错误行动并发表不当言论，粗暴干涉中国内政，公然挑战同北京市的友城关系，造成恶劣影响，北京市对此表示严正抗议！
