今天文超和大家分享一下有关家里水管的一点事儿。

前不久，我家里出现了莫名的嗡嗡的声音，时断时虚，无论白天还是黑夜，这种情况以前从来没有发生过。当声音出来的时候，让人觉得烦躁不安。我于是开始满屋子排查声音的来源，因为声音出来也没有什么规律，给排查声音的来源也带来了不少难度，从冰箱，洗衣机，最后发现声音的来源来自车库方向，再继续查下去，发现每当声音出来的时候，车库里的进水管似乎都在微微发抖，不停的震动，原来罪魁祸首就是它啊！
说起家里的水管，我几年前搬家过来的时候已经把全屋的水管全部都新换成了铜管，之前也从未发生过这样的情况。在和水管工讨论了之后，我重点检查了以下几点：
  1. 确认是不是家里有漏水的情况，观察声音是不是由漏水的情况引起的（比如马桶），判断的方法是观察city的水表在不用水的时候是不是仍然走动。
  2. 排查水管的安装固定有没有松动的现象。
  3. 测量一下家里的水压。
在排除了1和2之后，感觉与水压的关系越来越大，我于是联系了city 水厂的人员过来测量一下水压 （自来水公司免费提供测量水压的服务）。 水厂的小哥过来测量水压的结果在100多PSI，显然这个值对于家用是很高的水压了（家用通常是在50和75 PSI之间）。小哥坚持说我这个区域就是这个值，我则严重怀疑水厂最近提高了水压 （我的怀疑也得到了邻居的支持，邻居家的情况和我们家一样，也是近期才莫名的出现了嗡嗡的声音）。
既然噪音的源头确认了，后面解决起来就简单了，于是花了$270 联系水管工在进水管处安装了一个减压阀（Water Pressure Regulator)。安装好了以后，把家里的水压调到75 PSI 以内，于是这个奇怪的声音就大有好转，近乎消失了，这个regulator就是像下图一样的东东。

高水压的危害
Your home's water pressure should be between 50 and 75 psi. If it is higher, it can cause damage to your plumbing system and waste money. If you have ever had water "spray" into your kitchen or bathroom from excessive pressure at the faucet, or you hear strange noises coming from your dishwasher, faucet, or washing machine, you may have high water pressure.
高水压的表征
  • Strange noises. One of the first signs of high water pressure is clunking sounds from your pipes as water is forced through pipes and past the joints at a high pressure.
  • You may also experience water hammer, which happens when you turn off a valve or faucet, creating a surge of water back into your pipes. This can cause damage to your pipes by weakening them over time.
  • Leaking pipes can also indicate high water pressure. This is because the joints in your plumbing system can deteriorate over time due to the effects of high pressure. You may have a toilet that constantly runs or faucets that drip constantly even though they are sealed.
  • High water billscan also indicate high water pressure because appliances in your home will be constantly running, and you will waste more water when your water pressure is excessive.
  • You may also run out of hot water too quickly if your water pressure is too high and water may burst out very strongly when you turn on a fixture.
