Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
1、This is the spirit of the antichrist
antichrist英 ['æntikraɪst] n.
2、This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
recognize英 ['rekəɡnaɪz] v. 承认;认出;
falsehood英 ['fɔːlshʊd] n.
1、 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God

e.g. I wonder whether I can get some advice from you.

She doesn't know whether to get married now or wait.

I don’t know whether to accept or refuse.

whether...or not(与or not连用,固定搭配,引导状语从句)

e.g. Whether we go to your place or stay here, we'll still find something to eat.
We'll go on with the work, whether we can find the necessary tools or not.
Whether or not it rains, we shall play on Saturday.

2、Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God
This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
(1)    acknowledge
(to accept, admit or recognize something, or the truth or existence of something):

(1.1)S+~+ n./pron.

e.g. He acknowledged his own faults.

(S+~+ v -ing):

e.g. Ade acknowledged cheating in the examination.

(1.3)  可以接从句 [+ that]( S+~+that-clause) :e.g. She acknowledged that she had been at fault.

He refused to acknowledge that he had done wrong.

e.g. She is usually acknowledged to be one of our best artists.

They refused to acknowledge (= to recognize officially) the new government.

(2)recognize

(2.1) 作动词讲时  重点强调以前见过或听过,认出来(to know someone or something because you have seen, heard or experienced them before):
e.g. I hadn't seen her for 20 years, but I recognized her immediately.

"Do you recognize this song?"

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that
acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
