1、 There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity

under heaven:
(1)There is/are 是there be 句型,be动
(2.1)There is a desk and two chairs in the room.

(紧挨着be动词的主语是a desk,是单数,故be的形式要用is)

(2.2)There aren't two chairs and a desk in the room.(否定句)

(2.3)Is there anything wrong with your ears?(Yes, there is/No, there isn't.)

(2.4)There wasn't a meeting yesterday, was there?(反意疑问句)
There are several children swimming in the river.
2、a time to tear down and a time to build

扯下;
e.g.
Take the book from Alice, she will

tear it.
The child's misery tore my heart.
His heart was torn by anxiety.
(2)tear,作名词,读音[tiə]意思是眼泪,泪水;

破洞;裂口;
e.g. The tears flowed down from her eyes.
Her tears were fought back on such an occasion.
e.g. Mother mended the tear in Andrew's trousers.
My old pants have a tear.
e.g. The workers tore down the old house and built a new one in its place.
The mechanics tear down the engine, and fix it, and put together again.
She tried to tear down his reputation.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
