弟兄姊妹们主内平安，今天我们分享的经文来自旧约传道书（Ecclesiastes7:7-10）

Extortion turns a wise man into a fool, and a bribe corrupts the heart. The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Do not say, "Why were the old days better than these?" For it is not wise to ask such questions.
勒索使智慧人变为愚妄，贿赂能败坏人的慧心。事情的终局强如事情的起头；存心忍耐的，胜过居心骄傲的。你不要心里急躁恼怒，因为恼怒存在愚昧人的怀中。不要说：先前的日子强过如今的日子，是什么缘故呢？你这样问，不是出于智慧。
我们先来熟悉一下这段经文

（1）turn into sb/sth

2、The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.
better than比…更好
e.g.Her stomach trouble is much better than before. 
她的胃病比先前好多了
One is better than the other. 
一个胜似一个。
He speaks English better than I do .
他的英语说得比我好。
3、Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
reside 不及物动词，居住在；定居于;属于
e.g.He returned to Britain in 1939,having resided abroad for many years.
他在国外居住多年，于1939返回英国。
The true face of Lushan is lost to my sight, for it is right in this mountain that I reside.
不识庐山真面目，只缘身在此山中。
(1) reside in sb/sth
e.g.Happiness does not reside in strength or money. 
幸福不是由实力或金钱决定的。
The real power resides in the people.
真正的权力属于人民。
（2）reside with sb/sth
e.g.Do any other family members reside with you? Yes/No. If yes, who? 
是否有其他家庭成员和你住一起？如果是，谁？
Margaret resides with her invalid mother in a London suburb 
玛格丽特同她病弱的母亲住在伦敦郊区。
最后我们再回顾一下这段经文

由于人的有限性，使我们不能从一件事情的开头看到结局，因我们常常以为，开头如何，结尾也就如何。但是传道书的这几节经文却明确表达，事情的终局强如事情的起头。我们也摘录司布真《清晨甘露》里的一段，来与大家更进深的分享这节经文的意义。
你要看大卫的神和主，看祂的起头，“祂被藐视，被人厌弃，多受痛苦，常经忧患”。你愿意看一看终局吗？"祂坐在祂父的右边，等祂的仇敌作祂的脚凳。"，“祂如何，我们在这世上也如何。”
你必须背十字架，不然你就不会戴冠冕；你必须经过淤泥，不然你就不会到达黄金街。可怜的基督徒啊！鼓起勇气来吧！“事情的终局强如事情的起头。”你看蠕动爬行的虫子是多么难看呀！但那是事情的起头。当它展开美丽的翅膀，在日光中飞来舞去，在花朵中含英咀华、吸露吮蜜的时候，是多么满有快乐呀！这就是事情的终局。那一条毛虫就是你，终至被死的蛹缠绕起来；但当基督显现的时候，你必像祂，因为你必得见祂的真体。
你虽然是一条虫，而不是人，但是，你既像祂，就当知足，当你活过来的时候，你有了祂的形象就满足了。璞玉必须经过玉匠的琢磨，把它的四周切磋干净。它失去了很多在它以为是很有价值的东西。君王加冕的时候，王冠一戴在君王的头上，号筒便吹出了欢乐的乐声。宝石在冠冕上非常光彩夺目，但却受尽了切磋琢磨之苦。你可以把你比作宝石，因为你也是神的民；现在正是你受雕琢的时候。愿信心和忍耐完成它们的工作，因为当冠冕加在永生、长存、无形的君王头上时，必有一条荣耀的光线从你发射出来。耶和华说：“在我收聚珍宝的日子，他们必属我。”“事情的终局强如事情的起头。”
