弟兄姊妹们主内平安，今天我们分享的经文来自新约腓立比书（Philippians 2:5-11）
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but madehimself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death--even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him thename that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
你们当以基督耶稣的心为心。他本有神的形像，不以自己与神同等为强夺的，反倒虚己，取了奴仆的形像，成为人的样式。既有人的样子，就自己卑微，存心顺服，以致于死，且死在十字架上。所以神将他升为至高，又赐给他那超乎万名之上的名，叫一切在天上的、地上的和地底下的，因耶稣的名无不屈膝，无不口称耶稣基督为主，使荣耀归与父神。

 Humble，可作形容词和动词
（1）作形容词。意思是： 谦逊的；粗陋的；卑下的；微末的
e.g. He is very humble towards his superiors.
他对上级很谦恭。
Knowledge makes humble, ignorance makes proud. 
博学使人谦逊，无知使人骄傲。
The family lived in a humble cottage.

e.g. And to do this we need to humble ourselves.

保罗在腓立书第二章1-4节，劝勉弟兄姊妹要同心合意地事奉主，而同心合意的重要条件是存心谦卑，在2章5-11节保罗引用主耶稣自我谦卑的例子来解释这个真理。5-11节的中心思想，主要是表达以主耶稣的谦卑作为效法的榜样。主谦卑的目的是为了把人类从罪恶中拯救出来，完成救赎人类的使命。同样，今天我们存心谦卑的目的也应该是要藉着我们的生命表现把人带到神面前来，而不是要得别人的称赞。
因此，2章6-7节就是解释主耶稣如何谦卑自己来完成救赎的工作，其中包含非常重要的神学思想。基本上，主道成肉身显明了两方面的真理：一是放下或牺牲了一些东西（不以神同等），二是加上或取了一些东西（取了奴仆的形象）。
“反倒虚己”（7节）的意思就是“倒空自己”，主倒空了些什么呢？有人说，主道成肉身后，祂把无所不知、无所不能、无所不在的神性倒空了，于是他在世上受到限制。主耶稣若是真的倒空了部份神性，那么祂再也不是神，怎能称为我们的救主呢？祂有资格完成救赎，就是因为祂是完全的神，又是完全的人，这是绝对不可妥协的真理。主耶稣不是倒空自己，乃是谦卑自己，祂怎么谦卑自己呢？祂“不以自己与神同等为强夺的”（6节），主耶稣暂时放弃天上的存在方式，甘心乐意地放下自己应当享受的权柄，不在荣耀中表现自己；这就是不“强夺”的意思，也是道成肉身的目的。
主耶稣不但“反倒虚己”放弃了神荣耀的存在方式，而且还“取了奴仆的形像，成为人的样式”（7节）祂为了完成救赎工作，在神性上又加上人性，加上人性一切的限制，把不必要的担子加在自己身上，荣耀的神成为软弱的人；这就好比一个年青力壮的大汉病倒了，吃喝样样要别人照料，其心情可想像是多么的难受。主耶稣为了拯救人类而道成肉身，降生在卑微的马槽；事事要人服侍，样样受限制。然而祂却甘心忍受这些痛苦。
我们甘心为主背负十字架吗？“十字架”不单是指一些考验或苦难，更是指甘为福音而受苦，甚至牺牲自己。宣教历史上有许许多多为主、为福音的缘故而甘愿受苦和牺牲的见证。我们是否愿意效法主完全谦卑的榜样，以基督的心为心？虽然我们不能像主那样放弃神的荣耀而道成肉身；但我们应有主的心志--为了完成神的旨意，为了成为神合用的器皿；甘愿牺牲自己应有的权利，负起艰苦的担子，完成神所交托的使命！
