弟兄姊妹们主内平安,今天我们分享的经文来自新约提摩太前书(1Timothy6:6-10)
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
然而,敬虔加上知足的心便是大利了,因为我们没有带什么到世上来,也不能带什么去,只要有衣有食,就当知足。但那些想要发财的人,就陷在迷惑、落在网罗和许多无知有害的私欲里,叫人沉在败坏和灭亡中。 贪财是万恶之根。有人贪恋钱财,就被引诱离了真道,用许多愁苦把自己刺透了。
我们先来熟悉一下这段经文

contentment 英 [kən'tentmənt] n. 满足;使人满足的事

plunge英 [plʌndʒ]v.使投入;跳入;
ruin英 ['ruːɪn] n.毁灭;废墟;

3、For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

我们看一下这段经文里的语法
1、But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that   
content with使(某人)满足于…content oneself with sth/v-ing
e.g.He's not content with his present job.
他不满足于他现在的工作。
You will have to content yourself with what you have.
你应该满足于你所拥有的一切。
We must not be contented with such a small success.
我们不应该满足于这样的小成就。
2、People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
plunge… into突然陷入或呈现出 plunge sb/sth into sth
e.g.The maid plunged the cloth into the pail and cleaned the floor.
那个侍女把拖把放进桶里浸湿,用来擦地。
He plunged himself into work upon his arrival.
他一到就投入工作。
A power failure plunged the whole house into sudden darkness.
停电了,整个房子突然陷入一片漆黑之中。
The elephant plunged into the forest.
大象猛地冲入森林。
3、Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
wander from 偏离,从…离开 
e.g. wander from the track 走入歧途
wander from the subject 离题
We seem to have wandered from the path.
我们好像已经偏离了原路。
Don't wander from the subject,Stick to the point.
不要离题了。
They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
他们从这邦游到那邦,从这国行到那国。【诗 105:13】
My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back
我的弟兄们,你们中间若有失迷真道的,有人使他回转。【雅 5:19】 
最后我们再回顾一下这段经文

“知足”在这段经文的意思是指对属世方面的知足,因为下文第7,8节:“因为我们没有带什么到世上来,也不能带什么去;只要有衣有食,就当知足”。可见这“知足”并不是指灵性方面的自以为足,乃是指对物质方面有知足的心。
若我们敬虔过活,对属世的物质又有知足的心,保罗说“这便是大利”。这“大”字加强了全句的意思,同时也暗示,那些假师傅所贪图的今世利益,都不过是些小利益。真正的利益乃是敬虔又有知足的心这样所得的才是“大”的利。那些坏了心术的人不但得不到神的喜悦,所贪图的那些属世的财、利亦不过是暂时的,不能长久;但是那些真正敬畏神的人存知足的心,就可以得神的喜悦,得到属灵的祝福,而神也将实际供应他们物质上所需用的。正如主耶稣所说的:“你们要先求祂的国和祂的义,这些东西都要加给你们了”。当我们既敬虔又有知足的心,神就会把祂的义赐给我们,也把我们所需用的都加给我们。
注意第9节,这里圣经并不是说“那些富有的”,乃是说“那些想要发财的”,就是那些不以自己现在所有的为满足的人。无论这种人现在是贫穷或富有,都还是有贪财的心。

贪财的罪会生出各样的罪恶。有人为了贪爱钱财而行各样的诡诈、谎言和阴险的计谋,甚至强暴凶杀。“贪财”的结果亦会叫人更加自私,更加放纵情欲,更加自高自大。也有可能会毁坏自己的健康,因为放纵情欲,又从事各种没有益处的娱乐,都将使身体落在疾病中。有时更会受到国家法律的刑罚。所以保罗说:“有人贪恋钱财,就被引诱离了真道,用许多愁苦把自己刺透了”
可见钱财虽给人暂时的快乐,但结果反增加许多的愁苦。贪财常拦阻我们接受真道,叫我们离开真道。有许多人虽然听见真道,知道救恩的好处,却为着贪财的缘故,就放弃他所知道的真道。主耶稣在世上的时候,有个少年的官求问耶稣怎样可得永生,耶稣要他变卖所有的分给穷人,再来跟从祂,因为祂知道拦阻这青年人来跟从祂的,就是他的钱财,但结果这个青年人却是忧忧愁愁的离开了。
我们来一起祷告:亲爱的主耶稣,恳求祢使我们有知足的心,为着我们所拥有的感恩,保守我们的眼目,不看自己所没有的东西而心生羡慕嫉妒,求袮使我们心存感恩,有知足常乐的心。奉耶稣基督的名祷告,阿们!
