爸爸，上帝住在哪里？他的家很大吧？
的确很大，天和天上的天，也不够他住的。但是，他也能住在你心里。
Daddy, where does God live? Does He have a very big house?
Yes, His house is indeed very big. But even the heavens and heavens above the heavens are not big enough for Him. Yet in your heart, He still lives within.

爸爸，如果上帝可以住在我心里，那他一定要变成很小很小吧？多奇妙，是吧？
他可以同时在天上，同时又住在你心里哦！
Daddy, if God can live in my heart, then He must be very small, right?
Isn’t it wonderful? He can both be up in the heavens and in your heart!
3.
爸爸，他能飞过来吗？他怎么从天上到我的心里呢？
他不需要飞过来。他已经在那里了！他在每一个地方，从地球到月球，从北极到南极。没有一个地方，是他不在的。
爸爸，但是你说他还在我心里？现在就在吗？
就是啊，现在他就和我们在一起。不光这样，你出生之前，他就在。等将来，他还会一直和你在一起。
Daddy, can He fly all the way?How does He get into my heart from heaven?
He does not need to fly. He is already there! He is at every place, from earth to moon, from North Pole to South. There is not a single place on earth where He is not.
But Daddy, are you saying that He is inside my heart right now? right here?
Yes. He is with us right now, right here. Not just that. Even before you were born, He was there and is still. In the future, He will always be with you.

可是，爸爸，我不懂。他知道我住在哪里吗？
当然啦，他没有什么是不知道的。他不但知道一切明显的事，也知道人心里的秘密。
But Daddy, I don’t understand. Does God know where I live now?
Of course. There is nothing that God does not know. He knows all that are seen, and also all that are unseen, like in people’s hearts.

爸爸，他怎么可以知道我的秘密呢？他可以看见我的心吗？
是啊，你的心，就是他造的。他知道人心里所存的，也熬炼人的心。
Daddy, how could He know my secrets? Can He see my heart?
Yes. In fact, He made your heart. He knows what is inside a person’s heart. And He also tests the heart.
5.
爸爸，上帝会像我一样怕黑吗？
他不会怕黑的，因为是他造了大光，他也住在人不能靠近的光里。
Daddy, is God scared of the dark just like me?
He is not scared of the dark, because it is He who made the great light. And He also lives in a light that is unapproachable by men.
爸爸，可是，有时候我怕黑，那他怎么住在我心里呢？
他知道你心里有什么，而且，他还可以把你心中的黑暗和害怕赶走啊！
But Daddy, sometimes when I am afraid of the dark, how could He still live inside of me?
He knows what is inside of you. And He can also chase away the dark from within.
6.
爸爸，上帝是谁创造的啊？
你这个问题很好。上帝和这个世界还有你和我不一样的是，只有他不是被创造的——他从起初就存在。
爸爸，你是说，那个时候，什么都没有，只有上帝？那么，他不会很孤单吗？
他不孤单，因为上帝自己里面有一个完美的爱的团契，他也是充满宇宙的。所以他独自存在的时候，也不是孤单的。
Daddy, who made God?
That is a good question. A great difference between God and you and me is that, only God is not created—He was there from the very beginning.
Daddy,are you saying that there was a time when God existed but nothing else? If so, was He lonely? 
No, He was not lonely, because God lives in a perfectly loving fellowship. He also fills the universe. So even when He was alone, He was never lonely.
7.
爸爸，你听，那是上帝在打雷吗？
雷声的确是他发出的声音。
打雷很可怕，所以他也很可怕吗？
你觉得可怕也是对的。天父比我们想象得更要可畏呢。
爸爸，如果他那么严厉，那他怎么住在我心里呢？
孩子，雷声显出他的威严，细雨也显出他温柔的慈爱啊。
Daddy, listen! Is that God who is making the thunder? 
Yes, thunder is God’s voice speaking.
Thunder is terrifying. Is God terrifying?You are right in thinking that God is terrifying. God is more terrifying than we could imagine.
But Daddy, if He is that terrifying, how could He live in my heart?
My child, thunder shows His awesome majesty, but the drizzle shows His loving kindness too.
8.
爸爸，上帝会睡觉吗？有时候，我玩得很累，就会睡着了。
他不用睡觉，因为他一直有使不完的劲儿呢。
爸爸，他的眼睛一直睁开着吗？
是啊，他一直观看、护理这个世界，他看着你，也看着我。
Daddy, does God sleep at all? You know sometimes, when I am tired from playing, I take a nap.
He does not sleep, because He has a strength that never runs out.
Daddy, are His eyes always open then?
Yes. He is always watching and caring for the world, including you and me.
9.
爸爸，我们为什么看不见上帝啊？
很多时候，他是看不见的。但有一段时间，他曾经变成一个小婴儿，被很多人看见过。那是很久很久以前的事了。
爸爸，那个婴儿是很小很小的，还是很大很大的？
是一个很小的宝宝，和你小时候一样。但这个小婴儿却是天父本体的真像。
Daddy, why can’t we see God with our eyes?
Most of the time, we cannot see Him. But there once was a time when He became a little baby. Many people have seen Him. It was a long long time ago.
Daddy, was that a very small baby, or a very big baby?
It was a very small baby, just like when you were a baby. But that baby was the exact face of God.
10.
爸爸，现在，我要怎么才能看到他呢？
你看风，它可以让树叶哗啦哗啦响，可以让风筝飞很高，但你却看不见它。你可以闻见桂花香，但那香味飘在空中，你也看不见啊。
爸爸，我真希望可以看见上帝。我想看看他到底有多大？
有一天，存着信心等候他的人，都可以看见他。他一定比我们想象得都要大。
Daddy, how can I see God now?
You can go and look at the wind. It makes the leaves dance and carries the kite up high. But you don’t see the wind, do you? You can smell the sweet scent of osmanthus, which flies in an autumn day, but you also cannot see it, right?
11.
爸爸，他能一下子到月球上去吗？他有一个火箭吗？
他不用坐火箭，就可以在月球、太阳、火星，任何一个地方。他能把整个宇宙握在手里呢！
哇！他真大真厉害啊！
Daddy, can God go to the moon immediately? Does He have a rocket ship?
He does not need a rocket ship and can still be on the moon, on the sun, mars, and any other place. He holds the whole universe in His hands.
Wow! He is truly so big and awesome!
12.
爸爸，我还是不明白，如果他这么这么大，很巨大，很庞大，但他怎么会同时又那么小、那么微小呢？
他掌管整个宇宙，但他还可以是一个微弱的声音，就在你心里。
爸爸，他为什么能住在我心里呢？
哦，又回到这个问题啊，到头来，爸爸只能说，是他自己愿意的，因为你的心才是他最喜欢居住的地方啊！
But Daddy, I still don’t understand. If He is so big, so humongous, why could he be so small and tiny at the same time?
He is over all the universe, but He could also be a very small voice inside your heart.
But Daddy, how does He live in my heart?
Well, we have come back to this question again. All I can say is, that is because He is willing, because your heart is His favorite place.
绘本阅读指导
这本是刻意设计给父亲与孩子一起读的亲子绘本。大多数基督徒父母都会认同，父亲在家庭中的角色非常重要，不可替代。但父亲要怎样参与到引导孩子认识世界和自己的过程中来呢？
上帝给父母所定的角色是具有一定互补性的。如果说父母的责任是建立爱和权威作为家庭的基本秩序，那么父亲的恩赐比较侧重于建立理性权威（在某个阶段，孩子会觉得父亲什么都懂），而母亲的恩赐比较侧重于建立爱的权威。
本书刻画了一个对父亲不停发问的孩子。他（她）的好奇心、观察力都很强。对孩子刨根问底的寻问，父亲的回应是细心的聆听、耐心的解读和引导。做过父母的都会观察到，在一个阶段，孩子的特点就是不停地问“为什么”，而这是父母建立理性权威的最佳时刻。
这一绘本的设计也试图帮助父亲去理解并养成怎样聆听孩子发问、耐心回应的习惯。孩子问的问题，其实细细想来都会很有道理，要先以肯定的态度，来一同探讨这些问题，而不是忽略、轻视或嫌孩子烦。
本书也尝试帮助父母引导孩子建立起一种符合圣经的宇宙观和上帝观。可以说，这是一本适合低龄儿童的神学书籍。上帝的全在、全能、至大，和上帝的自有永有、可畏、全知，完美地并存。用父亲和孩子的问答故事来生动地呈现出这些神学观点，避免了简单的说教，但也为以后孩子的神学思维做了铺垫和预备。
和《天父宝贝》系列中其他绘本的主旨一样，本书希望给父母和孩子都提供一种看待周围事物的眼光，如同每一样事物都与上帝的创造有关，都有上帝的指印。这也是一种教导现代人（包括父母和孩子）如何默想的绘本。
