Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

1、you may be able to stand your ground
can 与 be able to 均可表示某人做某事的能力,常可互换。例如:
I'm not able to [can't] explain this.
He was able to [could] speak French very well.
I haven't been able to sleep recently.
Our baby will be able to walk in a few weeks.
You might be able to persuade him.
He can swim.
I am able to express my idea in a clear way.
I could / was able to play the piano when I was young.
Though he was sick, he was able to swim across the river.
After five hours of climbing, we were able to reach the top of the mountain.
2、In addition to all this,  the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one
(1) In addition to除 ...
In addition to an album, I gave him a pen and a pencil.
In addition to the killed and wounded, many were missing.
(2)take up拿起,举起(物);占(时间、地方等),消耗;开始从事;接受(提议);
She took up her bag and left.
It took up a whole week to write the article.
The table takes up too much space.
He was eager to take up some job.
I’ll take you up on your offer of a meal.
You should take up my suggestion and start saving money.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
