It is with great enthusiasm that wenominate Dr. Wei-Jen Huang, Staff Psychologist and Group Therapy Coordinator atCounseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), for the Distinguished Service –Commitment to Excellence Award for 2015. For the past 19 years, Wei-Jen hasprofoundly impacted the Northwestern community by touching the lives ofstudents, their families, and his colleagues.
我们以极大的热情,提名黄维仁博士获得2015年度的西北大学卓越贡献奖。他是我们的心理学教工，心理团体辅导小组协调员。在过去的19年里，维仁深刻地影响了西北大学整个团体，触动了无数学生、学生家庭，以及同事们的生命。
International Leadership

Wei-Jen has a life mission to help othersin need. Thus far in his career, he has trained over 20,000 people throughoutAsia and the U.S. to be counselors, focusing specifically on communities withoutmental health resources. A poignant example of Wei-Jen’s impact is described bymultiple families, who after learning communication skills in his workshops,were able to end domestic violence in their lives and expressed gratitude inletters they sent Wei-Jen with updates on the happiness of their families.
维仁怀揣在别人的需要上看到自己的责任的人生使命。在他的职业生涯中，到目前为止，他已经在亚洲和美国地区培训了超过20000人成为心理咨询辅导员，特别是在那些缺乏心理健康资源的社区。关于他的影响的一个很鲜活的例证是：很多在他的工作坊中受过训练的人，可以停止家庭暴力，重获幸福温馨的家庭生活，并写信给维仁表达他们的感激之情。
Wei-Jen has also given multiple keynotespeeches at international conferences focusing on relationship skills, socialjustice and compassion. For instance, he delivered a keynote at the RotaryInternational Conference in 2014 to more than 600 representatives from over 150nations (it was like a smaller United Nation), and the speech wassimultaneously translated into multiple languages.
维仁也曾在多个关注关系处理技术，社会公平正义以及社会关怀的国际会议上发表主题演讲。例如2014年的RotaryInternational Conference（扶轮社），维仁向与会的来自150个国家的超过600多位代表（就像一个小联合国）做了主题演讲，同时被翻译成多国语言。

Wei-Jen’s professional contributions andaccolades are numerous and have left an indelible mark on campus life. Hehelped brand and develop Northwestern community and wellness programs that arenow hallmarks of the institution. For instance:
维仁在其专业领域所作的众多贡献广受赞誉，同时也对西北大学的校园生活构建留下了不可磨灭的印记。他帮助建立和开发的很多西北大学团体和健康项目现已成为研究所的招牌。例如:
· ‘Behind Closed Doors’: the RA trainingin mental health, peer counseling and interventions.
·“紧闭的门后”:RA心理健康培训,朋辈心理辅导和心理干预。
· ‘Contacts and Connections’: bringing together Student Affairs and campuspartners to share experiences and build community.

· Emotional Intelligence trainings: whereeach year students pack Searle Hall to learn about relationship skills and thescience of emotional intelligence from “Dr. Love”.

Most notably, he has coordinated CAPS grouptherapy program for many years. Everyyear students rave about their experiences in group therapy. Studenttestimonials include: “The most important education I’ve had.” “This islife-changing. The love and support I was given was amazing, I will alwayscherish it and never forget it!”. “There should be more people in the worldlike Dr. Huang” (student’s actual written feedback attached).

Mentoring Activities
（导师）督导活动
Wei-Jen has been a clinical supervisor forhundreds of Psychologists-in-training. All of us know and use his phrases (i.e., “Part of the Northwesternfamily”, “My dear brother”, “thank you for your gift”, “you never know who you willmeet on the train of life.”) His kind heart and gentle spirit has touchedNorthwestern and psychology students alike. He has such a natural way ofencouraging trainees while also gently challenging their advancement. ‍Observing Wei-Jen touch the mosthard to reach students is an invaluable training experience. Wei-Jen also mentors new staff members andwelcomes them with love, acceptance, and warmth. He is committed to training other staff ingroup therapy and shares his wisdom and compassion generously.
维仁已经担任了数百名在训心理咨询师的临床督导。他的很多语录为我们所熟知和使用(比如，西北家庭的一员”，“我亲爱的弟兄”,“谢谢你的礼物”,“在人生的火车上你永远不知道会遇见谁。”)他善良与温雅的性情触动了他的学生，也同样触动了西北大学。他有一种鼓励并激发人向善的天性。观察维仁触碰那些学生们（心里）最难以到达的地方是一个极为宝贵的培训经验。维仁乐于帮助新同事，用爱，接纳和温暖欢迎他们的加入。他也致力于用团体动力扶助其他同事，无私地分享他的智慧和体恤。
Despite all of these accomplishments,Wei-Jen’s greatest contribution is who he is as a person, and how his spiritimpacts every student, parent, faculty and staff member he encounters. He is amaster teacher of relationships and self-love. We are all more compassionateand better human beings for working alongside him. His service has truly beendistinguished, and his impact will echo for years to come.
然而，在所有的这些成就之上，维仁最大的贡献是他的为人，以及他的精神如何影响他所遇到的每一位学生、师长、教工、同事。他是教导关系（处理）和自我关爱的大师。因着与他的共事，而让我们更富有同理心和人性光辉。他的工作是卓越的，并将影响深远。
