美国东海岸缅因州龙虾节从1947年就开始举办，至今已有69年的历史了。Rockland 是缅因州龙虾的原产地，每年8月的第一个星期，都在Rockland举办缅因州龙虾节（Maine Lobster Festival），这是全美最大规模的活动之一。今年的龙虾节从8月3日开始到8月7日止。
这么大规模的五天节庆，当然不只是吃龙虾了，还有游行、演唱会、选美等活动。每年的缅因州龙虾节可以吃掉20,000磅的龙虾，光是沾龙虾来吃的黄油，都会被吃掉1,700磅。据说第一届的龙虾节，1美元龙虾任吃！没看错！是任吃！但那是1947年！那时你在哪？此一时彼一时！昔日不再有！还是想一想即将到来的这一届龙虾节吧！

GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS

General admission tickets may be purchased at each of the gates.  Tickets will be available for purchase online starting the week of the June 6th.
On Opening Day, Wednesday, August 3, enjoy a discount on Adult admission tickets:
-  Adults, $5; Children 6-12 years old, $2.
-  Children under 5 years old get in for free
Thursday, August 4, still enjoy a discounted price on Adult admission tickets:
-  Adults, $8; Children 6-12 years old, $2.
-  Children under 5 years old get in for free
Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, tickets will be the original price:
-  Adults, $10; Children 6-12 years old, $2.
-  Children under 5 years old get in for free
Sunday, August 7 will be Hometown and Family Fun Day. It will feature all of the Festival’s children’s events, including the internationally-renowned Great Crate Race at Rockland Harbor.
-  Free Admission for all visitors!
 Adult 4-pack of admission tickets for $30 are no longer available to be ordered online, but can be purchased at the Main Gate during the event.
