2017 is the Year of the Rooster according to Chinese zodiac. The Year of the Rooster will start from Jan. 28, 2017 (Chinese New Year) and last to Feb. 15, 2018.

Rooster is almost the epitome of fidelity and punctuality. For ancestors who had no alarm clocks, the crowing was significant, as it could awaken people to get up and start to work. In Chinese culture, another symbolic meaning of chicken carries is exorcising evil spirits.

Born on Aug 8 in the Rooster Year 1969, Chinese queen of pop music Faye Wong is a legendary singer who has a psychedelic voice.

Her music has won her a large group of followers from many Asian countries, including China, Singapore and Japan. In 2000, she was recognized by Guinness World Records as the Best Selling Canto-Pop Female.

郭晶晶 1981年生
Guo Jingjing is a female diver from the People's Republic of China. During the 2004 Summer Olympics She won a gold medal in the 3 meter women's synchronized springboard along with Wu Minxia, before winning her first individual Olympic gold in the 3 meter women's springboard. After the 2004 Summer Olympics, Guo became a Chinese national sports figure. 
郭晶晶，中国跳水运动员。2004年雅典奥运会上，郭晶晶与搭档吴敏霞获得女子双人3米板金牌，之后她又夺得了女子单人3米板金牌，这让她成为中国体坛领军人物。
Guo won two more gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. She announced her retirement in 2011.
