As we continue to introduce American dance culture, the Beijing American Center will feature square dancing as the second part of a four-part series entitled, American Dance Series.   
Square dancing has been an integral part of American social life and culture for centuries, in part due to its association with the romanticized image of the American cowboy in the 20th century.  31 states have designated square dancing as their official state dance. 
Square dancing is just plain fun – and good for you!  In a fast-paced world where you’re more likely to text than swing your partner, square dance is a perfect way to connect with others.   
This session would include a historical introduction, followed by an engaging lesson taught by a professional dance instructor.  Come join diplomats to learn the origin of square dance and experience the magic! 
随着我们继续介绍美国的舞蹈文化，北京美国中心将推出方块舞，作为“美国舞蹈系列”四场活动中的第二场。 
几个世纪以来，方块舞一直是美国社会生活和文化不可或缺的一部分。部分原因在于它与20世纪美国牛仔的浪漫形象有关。全美有31个州将方块舞指定为其官方州舞。 
方块舞非常有趣——而且对你很有益处！在快节奏的生活中，你可能会花更多时间给伴侣发信息，而不是与伴侣翩翩起舞。方块舞是与他人联结的完美方式。 
本场活动将包括关于方块舞历史的介绍，以及由专业舞蹈教师教授的引人入胜的课程。快来和外交官们一起了解方块舞的起源，体验它的神奇之处吧！

Public Program Participants

    You must bring a valid physical photo ID in order to enter the Beijing American Center (BAC), copies or pictures of IDs will not be accepted.

    While portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, iPads and other tablets, and smartwatches are permitted, guests may not bring laptop computers to Beijing American Center programs. No large bags will be allowed for this event.
