This case is located near the Fangshan National Geopark in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, and it is the third design case in the same community. The homeowner is a high-quality owner whose shared cases on our website have been recognized. They have a deep understanding of life and are inspired by functionality to create aesthetics. From our first communication, we immediately clicked, and thus began this tacit and pleasant design collaboration.

In the initial concept of this design project, we shared a consistent vision with the homeowner to remove the walls of the secondary bedroom adjacent to the living room, thereby opening up the entire living space to create an open-plan design. Since the female homeowner has a relatively flexible schedule and workspace, she expressed a desire for a comfortable environment for daily work and life in the future. Consequently, the open space was designed as a study, and by combining the open-plan design of the living room with the study, the space was given a richer functional attribute. The entire public area is organized around the desk as the central element, with the TV background serving as a supplementary feature, creating an interesting variation. Beyond daily work, this space can also function as a leisure, social, reading area, or a relaxing spot to enjoy a cup of coffee.

This project serves as the "vessel" for a young couple to embark on their beautiful new life. The male homeowner works in the field of engineering design, while the female homeowner is a promising young lawyer. Based on the nature of their work and their living habits, the living and dining area is the main activity space for the couple. The young couple's demand for the space is the most comfortable state, with the living and dining room as the core of the space, radiating outwards.
By integrating the original balcony area into a one-piece living and dining space, they can tangibly experience and feel the maximum comfort brought by the expansion of scale. In the open space, an "architectural box" is independently formed through the enclosure and construction of materials. Different finish panels with textures of wood and cement create a nested structure within the space, adding a sense of hierarchy and visual richness to the public area, making it a beautiful carrier of daily happiness.
