“you have big nose”是什么意思？

这个表达可不能翻译成字面意思“你有个大鼻子”，

别人对你说You have a big nose，真的和"鼻子"没关系！

这个表达在某些语境下，

作为俚语时，它表达的是爱打听、爱八卦的意思。

用于描述喜欢打听别人八卦的那类人。

举个例子 

You have a big nose, Jim. This is private. 

你真爱打听，吉姆，这是隐私。


01. keep your nose clean

这句话难道是在说保持你的鼻子干净？

是要人家擦鼻子？咳咳~对方才不是这个意思呢，

keep one's nose clean 是常用的俚语，

用来表示远离是非，少惹麻烦；行为规矩，

相当于：keep out of trouble, avoid getting into trouble.

举个例子 

They are in hot water now, 

so they are trying to keep their noses clean.

英文释义：used when you want to say that,

 it makes no difference to you what someone else does or thinks.

即：当你想说别人做什么或想什么，对你没有影响时使用。

举个例子 

Hey, it's no skin off my nose ,

if Susie's going out now with that guy!

04. pay through the nose
Pay就是付钱的意思。

按字面上来解释，pay through the nose就是通过鼻子来付钱，

这听起来似乎很痛苦。

所以很明显这种情况是被勒索了，

这个表达翻译为“敲竹杠”、“花大价钱”。

举个例子 

So if you want to give flowers,

you can either get creative or pay through the nose.

所以，你要是想送花，

要不就得有创意要不就得花大价钱。
