The Diversity and Well-being Lab under the supervision of Prof. Winnie Mak at the Department of Psychology is recruiting a Research Assistant / Junior Research Assistant for a digital mental health project, the Jockey Club TourHeart Project.
Applicants should have/be (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related disciplines; (ii) good interpersonal skills with a high degree of empathy and understanding; (iii) genuine enthusiasm for mental health services and a commitment to promoting psychological well-being; (iv)  proficiency in conducting low-intensity psychological interventions and brief counseling sessions; (v) the ability to prepare engaging and informative psychoeducational materials; (vi) experience in organising and facilitating group therapies, workshops, and training sessions; (vii) able to address clinical queries with professionalism and care; (viii) diligent in maintaining records and monitoring user progress; (ix) a strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with various internal teams.
The appointee will carry the job title of ‘Psychological Well-being Officer’. The Department of Psychology is recruiting a Research Assistant or Junior Research Assistant under the supervision of Prof. Xiaonan LIU.

Project description.

In today's digital age, adolescents are heavily engaged with the online world through their smartphones. The SMART project addresses crucial challenges related to social media use, that may particularly impact adolescents: online risk-taking and exposure to misinformation. To explore these dynamics throughout adolescence, the SMART project aims to combine questionnaire design with the development of new behavioural experiments to understand adolescent’s online behaviour.
We are seeking a PhD candidate with an interest in experiment design and complex data analyses. The project involves cognitive computational modelling (including reinforcement learning), network modelling, and psychophysiological measures, such as eye tracking. This PhD position provides an excellent opportunity to cultivate a broad and advanced skill set.
The outcomes of this fundamental research project carry practical implications for enhancing youth’s resilience to misinformation and preventing online risk-taking. 【PhD candidate to unravel the complex interplay between social anxiety and ADHD in youth】

Project description
Co-occurring disorders are highly prevalent among youth with ADHD and the existence of other comorbidities alongside ADHD exacerbates the severity of symptoms. Furthermore, treating ADHD is expensive, with costs doubling when comorbid disorders are present. More insight in comorbidity in youth with ADHD is thus important.
Studies reveal that SAD is the most common anxiety disorder found in adults with ADHD. Conversely, ADHD has been identified as a possible risk factor for the development of SAD: research conducted in SAD patients shows that childhood ADHD (in particular, the inattentive type) is associated with SAD and more severe social phobia symptoms. However, study sizes are small and literature on SAD in ADHD is sparse. The nature of this relationship, the development of symptoms and potential treatment options are largely unknown.
In this project, we aim to (1) gain a deeper understanding of the causes and characteristics of SAD among adolescents and young adults who suffer from ADHD, as well as (2) evaluate the efficacy of two different treatments for SAD in this population. More information see website:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Individual and group psychotherapy

-Coverage of Urgent Care services (i.e., walk-in crisis) one day per week

-Assist in the training of practicum students by running a weekly case conference

【Behavior Health Clinicians - CONNECT Program】

HMH is hiring for a full-time Behavioral Health Clinician responsible for direct clinical work with clients in the outpatient mental health clinic, with a priority focus on those in the CONNECT program. The BH Clinician will also be responsible for coordinating and accessing care for their clients. The CONNECT program is a Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Demonstration Project to provide rapid access to mental health services in a more flexible and holistic way with the community and the whole person outside the clinic walls and beyond the traditional doctor/therapist-patient interaction. The position will develop community linkages to address immediate concrete needs to improve the quality of life of the people being served. The position requires community outreach and engagement, providing psychiatric counseling and social services to individuals, families, and groups affected by mental health or co-occurring disorders. The BH Clinician reports to the CONNECT Program Director. This is a clinic and field-based position, traveling to various sites in Lower Manhattan is required. 
Responsibilities: 
-Conduct intake assessments, evaluate symptoms and treatment course, crisis intervention, and discharge planning 

-Provide individual and group psychotherapy using different modalities 

-Utilization of treatment services such as individual, group, case management, comprehensive psychosocial assessments 

-Assessments will also include housing needs, vocational/educational needs, and other concrete needs as it relates to social determinants of health and develop objectives and recommendations for treatment services 

-Coordinate client care by scheduling and accompanying to medical, legal and other necessary appointments and completion of housing and social services applications

【北京大学】睡眠大数据与人工智能课题组

北京大学睡眠大数据与人工智能课题组(MoonLAIT)集睡眠医学、流行病学、数据科学、人工智能等学科于一体,专注睡眠障碍队列与人工智能大数据交叉领域研究。课题组前期建立了多种睡眠障碍专病数据平台,整合了常见睡眠障碍多维度临床信息,包括传统生化等检验、神经影像、多导睡眠监测及便携设备监测等数据。

从事个体心理咨询或心理治疗300小时以上,接受50小时以上的团体或个体督导(其中至少包含10小时的个案呈报督导经历),且近三年接受过伦理培训。

具有心理学、教育学、精神医学相关专业本科及以上学历者优先。
工作要求:
1.恪守心理咨询师的职业道德和专业伦理,严格遵守中心的各项规章管理制度和咨询工作安排;

2.承担个体、团体心理咨询工作。认真做好来访接待、咨询以及记录和必要的转介工作,积极协助危机管理和心理援助工作;
3.能保证每周至少2个半天的工作量(可在周末安排咨询者优先);

A full-time Research Assistant position in the team led by Assistant Professor Chua Wei Ling is available at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, National University of Singapore. 【Infant Mind & Cognition Lab @ Postdoc/Summer Internship】

The Infant Mind and Cognition Lab at Yale studies logical cognition and its development, with a focus on preverbal infancy and expanding to young children and adults. Our approach combines frameworks and methods from developmental psychology, vision science, psycholinguistics, and philosophy. Primary topics of interest include logical cognition – both in the traditional sense and broadly speaking –, abstract concepts, learning, the interface between perception and cognition, language acquisition, metacognition, comparative cognition, the development of planning and decision-making, and the distinction between discursive and iconic representations in the mind.

University Settlement’s Older Adults Center is a traditional place for those over 60 to gather, have a meal, learn new things, participate in activities to keep their minds and bodies healthy, and find opportunities to harness their creativity. The Older Adult Center also combines a NYC Aging Social Club (with modified OAC programming) and our Meals on Wheels program.
The Assistant Director will split their time between the OAC center and the NYC Aging Social Club and support the Program Director and overall integration of older adult services across sites.
Our locations are utilized as mandated cooling centers each summer, staff are expected to provide coverage outside of normal business hours.
Responsibilities:
-Program planning, implementation, and monitoring to ensure high-quality services aimed at keeping older adults healthy, happy, connected, and full participants in their community

-Monitoring of staff performance levels with respect to contract mandates, workloads, and program quality

-Conduct participant outreach and intakes

-Case assistance for participants including benefit and entitlement applications, referrals, advocacy, and crisis intervention

-Timely reporting to all funders and partners

-Data entry to monitor older adult’s participation and program outcomes

-Open and close the facility. Ensure the center is clean, welcoming, and well maintained. Schedule and report any facilities issues to the appropriate parties

-Network and develop relationships with outside partners, program collaborators and the Tenant Association

-Keep extermination, AED, Fire Drill, permits and other logs up to date

-Support integration of all older adult services settlement wide and within the Neighborhood Center and Satellite sites through participation in LEARN, Social Service, and coalition meetings

-Assume day-to-day responsibility for program operations in the absence of the Program Director

-Supervise staff, volunteers and interns

-Other duties as assigned by Director

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Social Work preferred

-2 - 4 years' experience working with adults or older adults within program development preferred;

-Must have passion for working with the adult population

Supervisory experience preferred
-Bilingual in Spanish, or Cantonese, or Mandarin (spoken and written)

-Excellent computer and organizational skills required

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

-Creative, innovative, and flexible. A sense of humor a plus.

• Job Title: Summer Research Assistant
• Job Duration: 10 weeks, with the possibility to re-apply for future quarters
• Compensation: $16/hour
• Primary responsibility:
o 1) Run studies (mostly in lab but some field experiments; range from simple surveys,
computer-based studies, to elaborate designs)
o 2) Recruit participants (“frontline” soliciting, scheduling)
o 3) Help with study design/program (e.g. Qualtrics, Google Docs) and data entry/analysis
o 4) Involved in multiple lab spaces:
 Mindworks (a behavioral science museum)
