Me&Master 第二季第二期，我们邀请Diego Paiusco和Claudio Milanesi来一起分享有关他们&赫尔佐格和德梅隆（Herzog & de Meuron）之间的故事。

Diego Paiusco

嗨，我是Diego Paiusco，我是一名土木工程师，在意大利获得了结构学硕士学位。完成学业后我决定专攻大型工程，跟踪基础设施，如桥梁和体育场馆；之后我开始作为大型建筑项目的工程师，曾在欧洲和美洲工作。2019年，我和Claudio一起创立了“FormƎ”工作室，目前在中国和意大利设有办事处。在这个工作室中，我担任管理总监，以及负责领导设计过程和管理我们实验室的团队。

I am a civil engineer, I graduated in Italy with a master's degree in structures. After completing my studies, I decided to specialize in large works following the monitoring of infrastructures such as bridges and stadiums, after which I followed the engineering of large architectural works, working between Europe and America. In 2019, together with Claudio, I founded “FormƎ” studio which currently has offices in China and Italy. In this studio, I hold the role of Managing Director and in addition to the duties of this role, I am responsible for leading the design process and managing the team that works in our laboratory.

嗨，我是Claudio Milanesi，感谢ArchiDogs的采访邀请。我在意大利获得工程学位后，于多伦多大学开始了材料科学的研究生涯。自2016年以来，一直关注处理亚洲市场项目，其中Renzo Piano工作室设计的天目里是我参与的第一个中国项目。2019年，我和我的搭档Diego一起成立了FormƎ工作室，并担任创意总监，负责与设计团队一起开发项目。以及在我们工作室为重要项目和建筑公司提供的咨询服务中，处理创新研究相关的工作。

After completing an engineering degree in Italy, I began my research career in materials science at the University of Toronto. Since 2016, I have been focusing on projects in the Asian market, among which Tianmuli designed by Renzo Piano Studio is the first Chinese project I participated in. In 2019, my partner Diego and I founded FormƎ Studio as creative Director, responsible for developing projects together with the design team. As well as our studio's advisory services to major projects and architectural firms, I handle work related to innovative research.

我们最近参与的大师项目是“赫尔佐格和德梅隆”（Herzog & de Meuron）建筑事务所设计的“中国京杭大运河博物院二期（暂名）”。该项目位于杭州，是一座正在建设中的标志性建筑。FormƎ，我们的工作室被选为技术设计&施工咨询顾问，为该项目的预制和现浇混凝土构件提供设计和解决方案。我们高度专注于实现独特的建筑效果，同时满足特定的生态可持续性标准。例如，在施工过程中显著减少二氧化碳的排放。最终成果是在与“赫尔佐格和德梅隆”的密切合作下开发呈现的。

The most recent master’s firm/project we are participating in is the "Grand Canal Museum Complex" designed by "Herzog & de Meuron". The Project is a monumental Museum currently under construction situated in Hangzhou. FormƎ, our studio, has been selected as a consultant for the development of technical design and solutions regarding the architectural concrete elements of the Project. The consultancy is focused on achieving a special architectural effect, and all the processes aim to reach certain eco-sustainability criteria, for example, the reduction in CO2 emitted during the construction process. The final outcome was developed in a close collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron.

和大师一同工作意味着在建筑领域的最高标准下。就个人和专业训练而言，这是一次难以置信的经历。但我认为最令人印象深刻的部分不止于管理或工作流，因为它们都是大型的规范化公司，而是会更关注他们如何保持耐心以及对建筑问题的深入研究。

Working out for a master of theme for sure it's been working the highest level of the architecture field. In terms of personal and professional learning training is an incredible experience. But I think the most impressive part is not related to the management or flow mythology, because all of them, are a larger natural company, but is more how they keep the patient and how deep the researcher of the architectural problem.

一项建筑工程是客户和设计师之间的合作成果，其结果取决于双方的努力。因此，我们认为建筑工作室应该有选择地接受工作，而不是接受所有的委托。客户和设计师之间的关系应该基于相互尊重和不断商议，以实现共同的目标。这个目标是创造成功的建筑，同时尊重预算和时间表。

An architectural work is the result of the marriage between the client and the designer. The outcome depends on both sides, which is why we believe an architecture studio should not accept all the jobs, but select the client to work for. The relationship between the client and designer is based on mutual respect and a constant confrontation that leads to identifying some solution to achieve a common goal. This goal is the realization of a successful Architecture, respecting budget and timeline.

我认为建筑领域是自然循环的。影响建筑的不仅仅是经济方面，还有不同国家、市场相关的战略政策。很难说有一个明确的突破，但我认为可以分析对于我们来说建筑技术领域最重要的内容是什么。我认为第一个是关于生态可持续性和绿色建筑政策的。所有具有可回收材料链、可再生能源的项目（例：新旧结构解决方案和施工技术），都应该在建造和设计的各个层面所考虑。

I think the construction field is naturally cyclical. So not just an economic aspect influences the construction, but also the strategy and the policy of different countries related to a different market. It's hard to say there is a director point, but I think we can analyzing what for us is the most important aspect of the architecture technology field. I think the first one, for sure, is about all the eco-sustainability and the green building policy. All the items that have a recycling material chain, renewable energy, like a new old structure solution and construction technology should be embraced by all the levels of the construction and of the design.

在与张唐景观的合作中，要求之一是使铺装在夜间通过灯光和夜光实现自然反射。FormƎ创新使用了玻璃内胆废料和工业隔热材料置入解决方案之中，除了达到表面效果之外，是工作室实现可回收材料循环的最佳实践应用之一。

In collaboration with Z+T Studio, one of the designer’s requests was the possibility of having natural reflections on the surface at night, with reflections produced by the garden lights and the sky. FormƎ's innovative use of thermos waste and industrial insulation placement solutions is one of the studio's best practice applications for recycling recyclable materials, in addition to achieving a surface effect.

Our studio was born after important experiences that allowed us to become experts in some areas of our field. After accumulating a lot of experience, we feel the need to offer our service to society. Our company is highly specialized in identifying technical solutions to guarantee the quality of the buildings and correspondence to the initial design intent.

As we know in architecture, one of the biggest challenges is to make sure the final result matches the idea in the design of mind, and with the representation in the renderings. As designers, we can perfectly understand the idea in the Master’s mind and his target. Thanks to our long experience in the Chinese market, we are able to lead the process so that the outcome matches perfectly the initial design internet.

我们主要关注三个方面：工作方法、可持续发展责任、身份和教育。

We mainly pay attention to three aspects that concern our studio: the working method, ethics and sustainability, identity and education.

FormƎ的工作方法基于跨学科的研究和创新，不同背景的专业人士参与每个项目，协助在各个层面确定设计问题的完整解决方案；其次，我们坚信遵守职业道德，承担建筑行业在环境保护方面的责任是必不可少的；最后，我们的意大利背景使我们能够回应客户对质量的最高要求，并且理解与项目相关的历史人文信息。FormƎ的愿景是帮助客户寻找认同“身份”，并以特定方式体现在项目中。

FormƎ’s working method is based on research and innovation through the interdisciplinary approach where professionals with different specializations connected to a project help FormƎ to determine a complete resolution of the design problems in every aspect. We believe in respecting professional ethics and the responsibility that the design world must have in relation to the environment and emissions. Our Italian background allows us to respond to the highest requests for tailoring and quality from customers, understanding the historical and social aspects connected to their projects. We help our clients find their own identity, build it, show it in a certain way, and we think that design is deeply connected to culture and needs a continuous exchange with the world of education and professional training.

在与如恩设计的合作中，FormƎ的目标是不采用机械凿毛的同时（项目体量巨大，会引发现场的噪音和灰尘污染问题），亦不在表面使用化学产品，因操作时大量的难以降解的化学剂将不可避免的渗进土地里。因此，秉持着采用生态可持续解决方式的理念，非木研发了在拆模时就能即刻获得粗糙饰面效果的技术。

In collaboration with Neri&Hu Design and Research, FormƎ's targets was not to mechanically chisel the surface, as classic construction method (imposing volume of the project, problem of noise and dust from the site) or to deactivate it with chemical products which, considering the large quantity, would have poured into the ground, but with a eco-sustainable approach, to create a formwork capable of restoring the surface effect once opened.

经过大量的研究测试，工作室研发了带有吸收系统的模板，这项专利能够实现垂直表面的缓凝效果，同时满足结构的规范要求。

After extensive research, FormƎ has therefore patented an absorbent covering system capable of restoring the vertical deactivation effect of the surface while respecting the regulatory requirements of the structure.

我建议年轻设计师在职业生涯的前三到五年内积累建造经验。一个不了解建筑技术的设计师只能“复制粘贴”已经被其他人采用的解决方案，而具备技术知识的设计师则能够创新提供新的高效解决方案。因此，我的建议是在工地上花费一些时间，以便更好地掌握这些技能。

I advise young designer to spend the first 3 to 5 years of their career on the job site. A designer who doesn’t know, the construction technique can only “copy and paste” the solution already adopted by others, while a designer who has technical knowledge is able to innovate and create new solutions, so my advice is to spend some time in the job site.

成为一名优秀的设计师意味着要付出很多努力，不仅限于在办公室内，包括在生活中的空闲时间。我认为这与激情有关。当你在家灵光乍现时，会立刻想在某处记下或与人分享，因为你不想失去它。所以，我的建议是多观察世界，坚持不懈，充满激情地工作。

Being a good designer means putting in a lot of effort, not only in the office but also in your free time in life. I think is something that is related to passion. Sometimes when you're at home and maybe some inspiration or some idea comes in, and you want slightly write it down somewhere, or maybe you want to share it with someone because you don't want to lose it. So, my advice is to observe a lot the world be stubborn, and work with passion.
