The United Nations observes theInternational Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25.  What is the message of International Day for Violence against Women? How can communities and individuals work together to prevent violenceand support survivors?  Join us for an interactive conversation with Grace Huang, an exceptional advocate on gender-based violence in the United States.  Grace Huang will share more about how she and her organization have worked to engage different stakeholders to address safety for victims of gender-based violence at legislative, administrative, community, and individual levels.

Grace Huang has advocated on behalf of the rights of sexual and domestic violence survivors for over 25 years, including as a civil legal aid attorney, as an immigration attorney in private practice, and as a policy attorney for a statewide domestic violence coalition, and at a national resource center. Ms. Huang serves as a Commissioner on the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, serves on the steering committee of the National Taskforce to End Sexual and Domestic Violence, and co-chairs of the Alliance for Immigrant Survivors. Ms. Huang also serves on the Sexual and Domestic Violence Subcommittee of the Gender and Justice Commission of the Washington State Supreme Court.
