Job Description
Over the last few years, Bosch has established the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI) as one of the leading enterprise research centers for AI. The Data Science and Software Engineering team is one part of the BCAI with the mission to incubate, engineer and roll out AI solutions to Bosch. We work closely with domain experts on real-world applications to transform Bosch into a data-driven company.
  1. You will translate business needs into technical solutions and develop advanced machine learning models for the analysis of large-scale and high-dimensional data. You will be exposed to the massive data and diverse application scenarios of Bosch's various business units and use machine learning technology to actively explore the infinite possibilities of intelligent manufacturing.
  2. You might be responsible for applying AI into the product design, development, manufacturing, supply chain and intelligent services areas. It may include but not limited to autonomous driving, fuel cell, electronics, etc.
  3. You will stay current with latest research and technology trends to explore and innovate new AI methods, build state of the art machine learning/deep learning models. You will review code written by others for critical feedback. You will be responsible for the modelling process from raw data to deployment ready model for production.
  4. You will collaborate with AI scientists, domain experts and engineering teams. You will share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas through papers, patents and presentations to research staff, management, and key decision makers.
Qualifications
  1. Education: Ph. D and above in computer science, mathematics, physics, or related field with strong background in machine learning (ML) or deep learning (DL).
  2. Personality: We are looking for a teammate who is: keen to learn new technologies and share knowledge, a team player and as well as able to work independently, motivated, goal-oriented, and pro-active.
  3. Experience:

    1. Profound knowledge of modern deep learning and machine learning technologies, broad general knowledge of methods and principles, especially solid expertise on 【computer vision related object detection, recognition, tracking and positioning algorithms. Practical R&D experience in the field of autonomous driving is a plus】.
    2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.    
    3. Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++).
    4. Demonstrated experience in working with ML/DL frameworks (e.g., sklearn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
    5. Excellent teamwork spirit, excellent communication, and documentation skills.

    6. Hands-on experience in working with Spark clusters or GPU clusters is a big plus.
    7. Publications at major conferences or journals is a big plus.

Job description
  1. Research and pre-development of PEM fuel cell stack technology and/or electrolyzer technology in close collaboration with the research teams in Germany, Japan, and US.
  2. Focus is on developing new product concept with differentiating properties and unique selling points.,
  3. Developing work packages from the project targets; design and execution of scientific experiments and/or simulation; analysis and interpretation of experimental data; writing research reports and presentations.
  4. Scouting, identifying, benchmarking, and tracking of new trends and emerging technologies in China, derive impacts on company research strategy and identify key partners.
  5. Establish relationship with university professors, industrial companies and experts.
  6. Specialty PEM fuel cell technology and/or electrolyzer technology:
  7. Design fuel cell stack / electrolyzer concepts in cooperation with suppliers of key materials and components.
  8. Evaluation performance by simulation and/or experiment.
  9. Identifying failure mechanism and cause-effect relationship

Candidate profile
  1. PhD degree in material science, electrochemistry, or polymer science.
  2. At least 3 year working experience in the field of Fuel Cells or electrolysis
  3. Good theoretical knowledge in working mechanism of fuel cell stack and/or electrolysis.
  4. Ability to design work packages and develop innovative concepts or solutions for scientific questions.
  5. Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written)
  6. Initiative and ability to lead research projects

  4. Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written), speaking German is a plus
  5. Good knowledge with certain level of experience on electric powertrain system and components e.g., inverter, electric motor, gearbox, as well as fuel cell system are preferred

    application is a plus.
  3. Expert knowledge and practical experiences in power converter/inverter software design,
    motor modeling and simulation, rapid control prototyping and test validation, simulation
    and development tools e.g., Matlab/Simulink, dSPACE, C language, Labview, Plecs,
    development process based on AUTOSAR, and microcontrollers (DSP) such as TI,
    Infineon chips. Experiences in VCU design is a plus.
  4. Experience in development of device driver such as Flash, EEPROM, CAN, SPI, ADC, etc.
  5. Experience programming in multithreaded/RTOS environments
  6. Strong documentation and writing skills
  7. International education and experiences are a plus
  8. Efficient, goal-oriented, structured working style, experienced in project work
