May Festival - 五月的艺术节

让我们用一场集音乐、舞蹈，艺术创作于一身老少皆宜的活动，迎接新春的希望！请踊跃加入我们！免费活动！

跟随跳跃的音符, 伴随美妙的歌声，跳起轻盈的舞步，带着艺术的光华，与你相约，徜徉于春天的怀抱里。

活动内容：

门罗艺术中心的音乐、舞蹈、戏剧和表演艺术教室开放参观，你可亲自与教师直接讨论课程和夏令营。
Blues Dogs 乐队将在艺术中心的后院表演，尽情享受最有品味和品质的情调音乐并随之翩翩起舞 - 带上野餐，尽情享受吧！
版画活动：将由老师和客座艺术家 Marina Strauss 领导

相关艺术活动：

周六上午 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
与版画家 Stephanie Stigliano 一起在我们新的版画工作室（103 室）制作一些凝胶版画！1:00 - 2:00pm，Stephanie 将进行演示并回答有关新蚀刻机以及即将到来的学习和使用印刷机的问题。
周六和周日上午 11 点至下午 5 点：一年一度的莱镇开放艺术工作室在全镇举行。MCA 艺术家将开放他们的工作室，我们将展示十几位艺术家的艺术作品。

该活动全场免费向公众开放。带上丰盛的野餐，来和艺术一起享受春天吧！

About Munroe Center for the Art

莱镇门罗艺术中心是一个社区艺术中心，旨在为每一个莱镇的居民提供艺术教育和灵感。它是由初建于1904年的门罗小学故地改造成为一个面向社区的提供艺术教育和体验的艺术中心的，并在 1996 年进一步演化为“莱克星顿艺术之友”，非营利经营，别称“门罗艺术中心”。

目前门罗艺术中心设有四所表演和视觉艺术学校、十位艺术家的工作室与画廊。四十多位教职工老师以及同样数量的志愿者们每年为一千多名不同年龄的学生全年提供音乐、舞蹈、戏剧和视觉艺术的课程和体验。

Director: Cristina Burwell

Cristina Burwell 是莱镇知名的社区服务志愿者，她一直活跃在社区的各种活动中，尤其是艺术领域相关的活动。她曾经长期担任莱镇艺术委员会(Lexington Council for the Arts) 的主任，2016年克里斯蒂娜成为莱镇门罗艺术中心（Munroe Center for the Arts）的执行总监，致力于将这一享有盛誉的中心打造成为一个“充满活力的艺术教育中心”，一个“艺术家的温馨家园以及社区艺术活动的催化剂和艺术爱好者之家。”

Cristina 是莱镇人文(Discover Lexington) 的焦点人物之一。今年三月，麻省文化委员会批准了两个新的州指定文化区，其中一个就是以人文景观历史闻名全美的莱镇社区。莱镇人文(Discover Lexington) 人物专访系列成功入选莱镇文化区，与莱镇华协的年度春晚和美国革命时期的历史一起成为莱镇人文资源的一部分。

Stephanie Mahan Stigliano

Stigliano 是五月艺术节的特邀嘉宾。她她是波士顿学院艺术、艺术史和电影系的教员。她曾担任赫斯画廊的策展人，并在新英格兰各地任教，包括核桃山艺术学院和新英格兰艺术学院。她的作品收藏于福格博物馆、哈佛大学霍顿图书馆、波士顿美术博物馆、国家女性艺术博物馆和波兰罗兹图书艺术博物馆。她的作品在波特兰公共图书馆和波士顿雅典娜博物馆的版画和照片收藏中得到了认可。

Stigliano 在国际上发起了广泛的项目，从雷克雅未克技术学院（冰岛）到 Hurumzi Henna 美术馆（桑给巴尔）的工作坊，以及对 Jane Matejko 美术学院和国际图书艺术节（波兰）的贡献。

Celebrating Spring

Join us to celebrate springtime with a free, all-ages event filled with music, dance, and of course, art making!

Classrooms open house in music, dance, theater, and performing arts to visit and talk with staff about classes & summer camp
Blues Dogs will be performing in the back yard to listen or dance to - bring a picnic and enjoy!
Printmaking activity (back yard) - gelli printing will be lead by teacher and guest artist, Marina Strauss

ADDITIONAL EVENTS

Saturday morning 11:30AM - 12:30PM - Join printmaker, Stephanie Stigliano in our new printmaking studio (rm. 103) to make some gelli prints!

Afterwards from 1:00 - 2:00 she will be doing demonstrations and answering questions about our new etching press and upcoming opportunities to learn and use the press.
Saturday & Sunday 11am - 5pm: The annual Lexington Open Studios is happening all across town. MCA artists will have their studios open, and we will be hosting another dozen artists displaying their artwork.

This program is FREE and open to the public. Bring a picnic and come and enjoy springtime with the arts!

Lexington Open Studios 2023

Lexington Open Studios is this weekend, May 20-21, and all are welcome! Artists who live, work, teach, create, or are affiliated with the arts community in Lexington will welcome visitors in their homes, studios, and arts communities. LexArt (the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society) and Munroe Center for the Arts will serve as hubs for the open studios experience. Come see some beautiful, intriguing, and joyful artwork, and learn about how you can participate in the arts community in Lexington.
