Hi there, we're super happy you clicked on this article! We are two students who had very limited knowledge about experience at a high school in the US and left almost everything in Guangzhou, Guangdong when we moved to California. As friends who had met at our previous school but had never been super close, we bonded over going through cultural differences and overcoming challenges here. This has not been an easy journey for us, and we hope to reach out to you if you resonate with our experience!

Our goal/ 我们的目标
    We hope to build an organization forming a tightly-knit community among international high school students called Xenia. Personally, we didn’t know what to expect when starting our junior year here– that’s why we want to get to know others who might feel the same and potentially connect them to classmates at their future school. We envision forming ties with different schools throughout the US and encourage you to join us if you’d enjoy creating this community and building connections with future classmates and friends.
    我们来加州后面临过很多挑战，因此想结识并帮助志同道合的朋友。我们设想的是，通过Xenia这个组织，被美高录取的学生可以在开学前认识同个学校的学长或者学姐，逐渐形成一个紧密沟通的网络。最终，我们希望可以和全美各地的高中建立联系。

Our name/ 我们的名字来源
    Xenia is a concept that has roots in ancient Greek. It means hospitality, especially to strangers, and we wanted to use this as our name because building connections and a community is all about getting to know new people and supporting them. 
    Xenia是一个古希腊的概念，意为对陌生人的热情友好；我们之所以选择这个名字，是认为建立连接、建立一个社区的过程中其实就是在认识新的朋友并相互帮助。
