重现历史：Tea Burning

在1773年的12月13日，莱克星顿的民众召开了一场特别会议，他们在会上投票决定销毁被征了税的茶叶, 以抗议大英帝国针对殖民地所设的《茶税法》。投票结束后，他们在集会处外面点燃了篝火，并把所有的茶扔进去焚毁。通过焚毁茶叶行动响应了Reverend Jonas Clarke的话：任何继续喝茶或者买茶的人都将成为“这个镇和国家的敌人”。

莱镇历史协会每年都会举办焚茶事件的历史重现活动。莱镇华协(CAAL) 一如既往地支持这项活动，参与现场展示关于茶叶的历史。活动将在室内和室外进行，包括演练，射击，军乐，关于茶历史的节目，大家还可以亲身体验当年莱镇民众焚毁茶的活动！

活动日程:

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: 参观巴克曼酒馆 (Buckman Tavern)，观赏莱镇最具历史意义的酒馆的室内陈列和节日装饰。来自莱镇华协(CAAL)，Mark Wendell 茶公司和莱镇历史协会的专家们现场展示关于茶叶的历史。

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: 莱镇民兵(Lexington Minute Men)聚集在酒馆外和 Battle Green，准备销毁茶叶，用火枪练习演习并讨论当天的政治。

10:30 - 11:00 AM: 请加入我们的故事会。阅读 Tami Lehman-Wilzig 和 Rabbi Deborah R. Prinz 的波士顿巧克力派对，了解 18 世纪的巧克力和光明节传统。故事会适合 5-8 岁的儿童。

12:30 PM: 民兵们游行到 Battle Green 的纪念碑前，向在1775年4 月 19 日独立战争第一仗的阵亡者鸣枪致敬。

1:30 PM: 重现焚茶历史事件！大家围着草地上的火堆旁聆听着历史决议，然后亲手将茶叶扔进火堆焚烧！

Lexington Historical Society Presents

Tea Burning

On December 13th, 1773, Lexington's citizens met for a very special town meeting, where they voted to purge the town of the detested taxed tea. Following the resolve, they built a bonfire outside the meetinghouse and threw the town's supply of tea into it, echoing Reverend Jonas Clarke's words that anyone continuing to drink or buy tea was "an enemy to this town, and to this country."

Activities will be happening indoors and outdoors throughout the day, including drilling and musket firing, music, drop-in programs about the history of tea and tea substitutes and, of course, the tea burning itself!

Schedule of Events:

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Visit Buckman Tavern to view Lexington's most historic space decorated for the holidays and learn more about tea history. Upstairs, learn more about tea history from a variety of experts, including:

Mark T. Wendell Tea Company

Lexington Historical Society

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Mingle with the Lexington Minute Men outside the tavern and on the Battle Green as they prepare for the destruction of the tea, practice drilling with their muskets, and discuss the politics of the day.

10:30 - 11:00 AM: Join us for story time to read The Boston Chocolate Party by Tami Lehman-Wilzig and Rabbi Deborah R. Prinz, and learn about chocolate and Hannukah traditions in the 18th century. Recommended for ages 5-8.

12:30 PM: The Minute Men will march to the memorial on the Battle Green to give a musket salute in honor of the April 19th fallen.

1:30 PM: The time has come to burn the tea! Gather around the fire to hear the town's resolution, and toss the tea into the flames!
