Towards Tomorrow is a place for young people to showcase their talents and leadership in many ways. The website of the journal www.JournalTowardsTomorrow.org publishes selected manuscripts and works of art on a rolling basis throughout the year, and will combine the best works into an annual publication in June of each year.

About Towards Tomorrow

Towards Tomorrow is a youth journal published by JuniorCoach, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing peer-to-peer free instruction for youth. The journal accepts and showcases submissions here on the website year-round. Every June, a handful of selected outstanding works among the previous submissions will be selected in the annual digital journal.

Towards Tomorrow invites submissions that are of interest to all types of writing and artwork. The editorial team welcomes and encourages submissions from a wide range of cultures and perspectives.

We value works that highlight implications for research, policy, and practice and emphasize issues of equity and justice, as well as small moments of your everyday lives. No matter if your works are action-packed stories, intriguing nonfiction, heartwarming poetry, paintings, or multimedia productions, Towards Tomorrow always has a place for them.

Through a collaborative process among our team, Towards Tomorrow presents a unique and authentic vehicle for showcasing young writers' and artists' diverse talents. This literary gem aims to inspire young students all over the world to hone their craft and share their voices with the community.

FAQs

SECTION 1: WHO CAN SUBMIT?

I have already graduated from high school. Can I still submit?

Yes. We welcome all students from K to college undergraduate to share their talent with us. However, we do care about age appropriateness and thus encourage you to contact our editorial team and submit your work for a review if you graduated high school by the time you submit. We would be more than happy to handle it case by case.

I don't live in the US. Can I submit?

Yes. We accept submissions from students all over the world.

I am not registered with JuniorCoach as a student or a volunteer. Can I submit?

All are welcome! However, be sure to check out JuniorCoach for courses and one on one tutoring opportunities JuniorCoach provides at www.JuniorCoach.org.

I am a registered JuniorCoach volunteer. Can I submit?

By all means! Kudos for being a proud JuniorCoach, so long as you are eager to participate, submit!

SECTION 2: SUBMISSIONS

Can I get help and/or advice from a teacher about my work before submitting?

Yes! We encourage you to! Good writing as well as artwork need workshopping and revising. But please make sure all of the work should be done by you. We also have writing clubs and poetry classes that you would benefit from. Please check our journal website www.JournalTowardsTomorrow.org for details.

What are the length limitations for writing?

Please limit your word count to a maximum of 1500 words.

What's the rerquirment for art work submissions?

We ask that all art work to be submitted in digital form. You may take photo or make a video to showcase your work. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you have questions.

What types of pieces do you accept?

We welcome all types of writing, art, and beyond. Diversity in work is very important to us. We also encourage all types of art submissions: painting, video, multimedia, etc. We also ask that artwork is submitted in a digital file.

Submission Guidelines and Selection Process

Towards Tomorrowsubmission is always open. We also publish selected submissions on our website as we go. At the end of May each year, our editorial board also will select outstanding works from the online publication pool to be included in our yearly journal issues.

Join the team

Registered JuniorCoach volunteers who complete at least one fundraisisng club, or sucessfully complete minimal of 20 hours one on one tutoring sessions, will be eligible to apply for editor or administrative position. Please email [email protected] if you would like to apply.

We also encourage students who have not started volunteer activities to register on the JuniorCoach website and actively start accumulating volunteer hours. Please click the link below for details.
