Community is Encouraged to Comment The Planning Board’s detailed review of Lexington’s Draft Comprehensive Plan is continuing and will be completed in August. 

This is the time to provide final comments and any recommended changes. Please help us spread the word. Public comments will be taken at each Board meeting. Written comments may be submitted to Planning staff at：

Chamber's Summer Concerts Series is free to the public wiith a variety of musical styles, and a relaxed "picnic in the park" atmosphere, the concerts promote the old-time neighborliness of Lexington. Remember to bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, and refreshments. 

Summer is for Fun at Cary Library!

Summer challenges are for everyone - including pre-schoolers, k-5, teens and adults!

For teens (gr 6-12), there are 7 different activities badges (READ, WRITE, CREATE, MOVE & DO, LISTEN & WATCH, GETTING TO KNOW LEXINGTON, and EXPLORE BEYOND) in our summer activities challenge. 

To participate, log into your Beanstack account, select the teen program, pick some activities from the lists under each badge, and get started doing them! You can begin the badges in any order and you do not have to complete a badge before moving on to another. It is all up to you! Complete 7 of the activities listed to earn an activity badge.  For each activity badge earned by our community’s teens, the Friends of the Library will donate $2 to The Children’s Room in Arlington, MA, a local center for grief support for children, teens, and their families.

Spinning Bee Anniversary Event

Time: Sat, 8/27

Location: Jonathan Harrington House

On August 31st, 1769, 45 women from Lexington assembled at the home of Anna and Daniel Harrington for a spinning match - a political protest designed to show the British government that Americans could use spinning wheels to make their own clothing without the help of their mother country. Join LexSeeHer and Lexington Historical Society for this event on the site where the protest actually took place.

LexFarm Youth program 

LexFarm Youth program registration for fall 2022 is open for registration now! 

LexFarm youth programs offer many opportunities for hands-on learning and play in a beautiful farm setting. Based in the LexFarm learning garden, our classes expose children to all aspects of the growing cycle: planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting. We explore the wildlife at the Arlington reservoir and visit with the animals at neighboring Silk Fields Farm. This coming fall we're excited to be expanding our offerings to serve children age 2 through 3rd grade, adding a new Art in the Garden class, and extending our season by running classes from mid-September through early December. Join us for some outdoor adventures on the farm this fall! 

Purchasing an AAPI 5K T-shirt, to fundraise for the new water station at Minuteman Bikeway!

The Minuteman Bikeway is one of the most enjoyable places for residents for healthy recreation activities, including bicycling, walking, and running. However, no water fountain is provided in the Arlington–Lexington section of the path. 

Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL) is partnering with Lexington HEY Runners Club to raise funds to establish a water fountain. Join us to make the Minuteman Bikeway a better summer-friendly place!! 

Tour de Cure Challenge

Many Roads. One Purpose

The Tour de Cure Challenge, a charity ride funded for the American Diabetes Association, is the nation's largest diabetic ride, with an annual event series that calls on more than 50,000 riders from 80 cities.

The 2022 Tour de Cure New England is also in full swing. Lexington is honored to have been chosen as the venue for this year's competition. Everyone is very welcome to ride a bike and do good deeds together, no matter what kind of riding level you are, you can have a great ride in this charity event.

It's a biking activity for all ages, with about a few thousand cycling enthusiasts participating. We hope that our "riding trail" can help the majority of patients to overcome diabetes. Event organizers are now recruiting a large number of volunteers to participate in the organization's work.
