我买的那张是参加2019年8月华协组织的迎新会，虽然只有我的背影，但那是非常有纪念意义的，且对我的人生也是个里程碑。作为身在异国他乡的新人，完全陌生的一切，找到组织的感觉真好！当我去图书馆看影展的时候，内心是被震撼到的。95张照片时间跨度整整十余年，更像是一本华人融入当地社区的年鉴，大事记。看完影展，除了感动还有钦佩，钦佩当地华人组织的坚韧不拔，感叹他们为撑起华人的一片天竟然做了那么多，太不易了。这在以前，我在国内是感受不到的。---随遇而安

看了影展，感受到了乡亲们在莱镇的丰富多彩的社区生活。能通过义买支持图书馆，支持社区的建设是我作为村民的荣幸。---迎春

Takumi是LHS今年的毕业生，好像是日裔。他从初中就开始参加Troop 160 并且从我们加入就记得他负责每年感恩节野外大餐的烤苹果馅饼的任务。小伙子朴实无华，可以说不修边幅。我也没见过他爸妈参与，不像华人家长积极参与。但小伙子勤勤恳恳，虽然不是领导类型的童子军，但干活一丝不苟，为人彬彬有礼。有他负责的任务我们都很放心。这次买画送给他，他的父母也非常高兴，说很高兴Takumi这种默默无闻的童子军的贡献有人观察到并且得到肯定和鼓励。我也很高兴能用这一方式鼓励这样的年轻人继续为大家为社会努力。高中毕业之际，Takumi没有拿童子军的雄鹰级别，这是童子军最大的总结和荣誉。我都为他有些遗憾。但是这个照片可以是一份送给他毕业的最好礼物，以及童子军生涯的珍贵记忆。---黄嘉（本期46号照片爱心义买者）

为什么要义卖

我们已将所有作品征得作者本人同意并进行义卖，义卖所得款项将悉数捐给镇图书馆用于儿童图书室和大型会议室改造项目。

Johnson Roberts Associates 公司已参与该项目的初步设计。自 2004 年图书馆重大改扩建项目完成以来，图书馆对青少年的服务发生了重大变化。虽然我们的儿童室和大型会议室在当时是最先进的，但它们并不适用于当今更多参与性和以人为本的服务模式。全部义卖款项将与购买者、作者作一对一配比，并会在我们的媒体平台上把您的爱心善举进行公布（若您愿意的话）。每幅作品义卖价$50。

It was important for me to show how Asian people in Lexington are standing up for the rights, dignity and justice for all races and being allies to other minorities. It was notable to me that the call to stand up for others was answered at a time when Asians were themselves victims of a surge of racist attacks during the covid pandemic.

近年来，越来越多的 AAPI 青年加入了童子军，以身体强壮，精神清醒，道德正直的方式。莱镇160部队每年 11 月，部队在树林里的露营地烤火鸡和烤馅饼，这是一个很受欢迎的活动。在与家人共进火鸡晚餐后，童子军们在回到自己的帐篷前用营火节目招待客人。

In recent years, more and more AAPI youth have joined Boy Scouts in a way to be physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. Lexington Troop 160's annual cook-o-ree is a popular event in November when the troop roasts turkeys and bake pies on a camping site in the woods. After the turkey dinner with their families, the scouts entertain guests with a campfire program before retiring to their tents.

“Asians in Lexington - One Village, One Dream Photography Exhibition” has been on display at Cary Memorial Library for nearly two months and ended on June 30. With the consent of our generous photographers, we will put most of the photography prints (with frame) on sale for $50 each. All the proceeds will go to the Cary Library’s “ChiRP Children’s Room Project”. Please check the library’s website https://www.carylibrary.org/children/chirp for more information about the project.

The process is simple: When you examine the photos in this article, you can find the serial number below each photo. Please tell us the title or the serial number of the photos you want to purchase, and your contact information by filling in the google form below:

The payment shall be made within 24 hours after filling in the form. We will contact you soon after, so you can receive the photos.
