The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) and the Center for Advancement of Youth is hiring for one full-time Researcher III position (i.e., research coordinator). The position is supported from funding from a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration focusing on infant and early childhood mental health. The project, Mississippi Behavioral Health in Infants and Preschoolers (MS-BeHIP) is located within the Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior. The aim of MS-BeHIP is to establish, implement, and evaluate a continuum of behavioral healthcare services (promotion, prevention, screening and intervention) for infants and preschoolers with high risk term and preterm deliveries through expansion and dissemination of evidence-based interventions at UMMC, via telehealth, and through state-wide dissemination and implementation efforts focused on Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Responsibilities and skills
We are looking for one clinical Researcher III (Master's degree with no experience, or bachelor's degree with two (2) years of related experience) The researcher will work with project investigators and a team of research coordinators, post-doctoral fellows, clinicians, and community members. The researcher will assume coordination of day-to-day study activities, including recruitment and scheduling, screening, conducting study data capture (online, behavioral observations, clinical, and electronic medical record), scoring and data management and entry. The researcher will also assist in creation and maintenance of multiple IRB protocols, data reporting, and preparation. The ideal candidate is able to both balance working independently with initiative but will receive close mentorship for skills development. High level interpersonal skills as well as comfort and desire to work with people from various backgrounds will be prioritized. Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS/Stata/R) and REDCap (or other data management system) will be prioritized but on the job training in these programs is offered.

The position is ideal for individuals looking for experience prior to entering advanced educational training (e.g. PhD/Master’s programs in social sciences, Medical School, or education). The core grant activities that the researcher would work on include: 
(1) Tracking and data management regarding parent and infant screening and developmental evaluations in the UMMC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and its high-risk follow-up clinic; 
(2) projects evaluating PCIT and related promotion/prevention strategies in early childhood centers such as Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) and Teacher-Child Interaction Therapy (TCIT); 
(3) application of mental health promotion and interventions via telehealth;
(4) a statewide dissemination and implementation effort for PCIT involving community mental health clinics. Candidates will have ample opportunity to join scholarly and clinical project products (i.e., publications, posters, conference presentations).
