The guiding concept of the Showroom is nourished by the captivating and unique manufactured landscape of the quarry. The access through a small opening in the façade links the visitor to the central monumental space, the "arrival to the quarry", the Forum. This is the starting point to begin a museographic tour, where the multiple exhibition halls of materials of different characteristics are articulated around the Forum, proposing a dynamic and versatile experience.

The proposal moves away from conventional retail, promotes learning and dissemination, the understanding of why and how architecture, design, art and culture are generated in Mexico and the world. A platform that stimulates dialogue and knowledge, that establishes a mutually beneficial relationship with the community, its clients and allies, and whose objective is to promote participation in the construction of Mexico's cultural and creative expression.

The building is operationally and physically divided into two volumes that weave and relate to each other; first, the one that gives access to the building, is the universe of the quarry, with a total of 2026 ㎡ distributed in three levels. It houses the Design Center, the cafeteria and the multipurpose room and is expressed as a massive block in which courtyards and paths are carved out.

The second volume is the warehouse, measuring 3675 on a single 12-meter-high floor, which acts and expresses as a container and operates as a distribution center, a diaphanousand neutral space, a canvas that gives the leading role of the scene to the stones and is framed at the back by a forest that connects us again with the origin of matter.

Technology plays a relevant role, as it allows the interaction of mobile devices with the materials through QR codes. Thus, it immediately provides the user with the information, description and costs of the selected materials, and allows to generate a database of the customer's materials of interest and record, as well as to analyze trends and shopping patterns.

We start every project with an analysis and research that leads us to the concept, a main intention.

For us the whole is related to its parts, every element and every detail has an important role. The relationship between the materials and the way they interact with each other, as well as how they are built, are what makes a project unique and beautiful. Sometimes this process involves few materials, some others it is necessary to achieve harmony between many.

We believe that honesty is reached by the correct balance among the overall and its details. This is what shapes the identity of a project and, also, defines its character and strength.

The architectural concept of this project is inspired by a quarry, besides the horizontal veining of marble, which really suggest the intention of the space, it is also the volumes, the pleats, the geometry and the arrangement of the agora, that result in interpretation and abstraction of the quarry.
