Larry Freeman
我叫
LarryFreeman,

LHS
Town Meeting

Eileen Jay
倡导为能力各异的学生服务且培养善于思考、参与和具有同情心的终身技能的教育;
平衡学业成长和对学生的社交、情感、身体和心理健康需求的照顾;
促进建设包容性社区和与文化相呼应的课程,涵盖所有历史、经历和身份;
审慎规划高中建筑,平衡空间需求和财政考虑;

Larry Freeman
My name is Larry Freeman and I am running for the Lexington School Committee because I believe education is one of the greatest equalizers in this country. In fact, my family and I moved to Lexington because of the excellent school system.  I have seen first-hand the triumphs we have achieved as a highly regarded school system as well as the areas that require more attention.  I have two children in the school system and like many of you, I view a quality education as a critical component tobeing a successful, civic-minded global citizen.  I’m especially motivated to run now to bring attention to the need for an equitable and inclusive curriculum, which are essential to maintaining the academic excellence of our school system.  I currently serve onfifteen committees and groups, all dedicated to making Lexington andour school system the best.  I have the experience, professionaltraining, and skills to bring a systematic approach to problem solving, a listen-and-learn mentality, and a collaborative approach. Your support is critically important to me, please visit my websitehttps://www.freeman4lexington.com/home to learn more about me and the campaign!  I look forward to serving you as a member of the School Committee.
Salvador Jaramillo
Hello, my name is Salvador Jaramillo and I am running for one of the two open positionson the Lexington School Committee. I am an LHS graduate, Town Meeting member, Harvard pre-medical student, and a COVID-19 researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital. I am running for School Committee because I feel we need a fresh perspective on the committee: our students are facing many challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and I want to help them. As a tutor here in Lexington for three years, I have helped many Chinese-American students in AP and Honors courses, especially in math and science. I understand what it takes to help students succeed and do well in their studies. As an Asian-American student myself, I understand the pressure and rigorour students face here in Lexington, and I hope to bring that perspective to the Lexington School Committee. Please visit mywebsite at https://www.salvadorforlexington.com/ to learn more about me and my platform!
Eileen Jay
I am excited torun for re-election to the Lexington School Committee on March 7, 2022. I bring the depth of my experience as a School Committee member for the past six years—including two years as Chair and two years as Vice-Chair—as well as my continued passion for providing the best education for our students.
As a professional educational researcher and an active parent in our schools for more than 20 years, I care deeply about inspiring students to enjoy the process and joy  of learning. Through education, we hope to stimulate their passions and cultivate life-long skills to help them become critical thinkers, caring adults, and engaged citizens of the world.
PRIORITIES
Advocate for education that serves students of all abilities and cultivates life-long skills for thinking, engagement, and compassion
Balance academic growth with caring for the social, emotional, physical, and mental health needs of students
Promote an inclusive community and culturally responsive curriculum thati ncludes all histories, experiences, and identities
Prudent planning for the high school building that balances space needs with fiscal concerns
We need sound and balanced judgment to address the complex challenges our system faces,such as increasing enrollment, school building needs, demographic changes, and student mental health. I will strive to bring a thoughtful, reasoned approach to issues that is informed by staff and community input.
