何新：犹太人、希利尼人与希腊人
希利尼人是Hellenics即希腊人的另一种对音翻译。（老何附注：我过去不知道这一点，曾经撰文讶异《圣经》中何以没有述及希腊人，是错误的。）
希利尼人（Hellenics）在《新约圣经》里指小亚细亚和黎凡特（叙利亚）地区的犹太人。
从《圣经》的翻译过程来看，“希利尼人”和“希腊人”是中文圣经翻译的先后两种译法，指的都是同一个词“Hellenics”——在2000年代前出版的《圣经》里翻译为希利尼人，在近年新版里翻译为希腊人，英文版则统一译为Greek。
希腊人使用的语言文字是希利尼语文(Hellenistic)。希利尼语，亦称阿拉米语文，指公元前3世纪到公元3世纪时期中东地区所流行的希腊语，即所谓“通用希腊语”。据说，它也是整个东罗马（东地中海地区）在当时的通用语(linguafranca)。
通用希腊语也是基督教《圣经·新约全书》著书时所使用的语言（《旧约》使用希伯来语文），是《新约》传教时所使用的主要语言媒介，使基督教得以传扬开，所以又名为新约希腊语。
通用希腊语也是罗马帝国在第1到2世纪时的非正式第一或第二语言。
【《圣经》中的犹太人和希利尼人】
中译旧版《圣经》:
犹太人和希利尼人，并没有分别。因为众人同有一位主，他也厚待一切求告他的人。
80中译版《圣经》:
犹太人和希利尼人，并没有分别。因为众人同有一位主，他也厚待一切求告他的人。
21世纪新世纪版《圣经》:
其实并不分犹太人和希腊人，因为大家同有一位主；他厚待所有求告他的人，
LCC:
犹太人和希利尼人并没有区别同一位主是万人的主，丰丰富富的恩待一切呼求他的人。
TCB:
这话是指所有的人说的，因为没有犹太人跟外邦人的区别；上帝是万人的主，他要丰丰富富地赐福给所有呼求他的人。
当代《圣经》:
犹太人和外族人，没有甚麽分别，因为他们同有一位主，他必一律厚待所有求告他的人；
CSG:
其实，并没有犹太人与希腊人的区别，因为众人都有同一的主，他对一切呼号他的人都是富有慈惠的。

For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,
NRSV:
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek;the same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on him.
NASV:

【附注】《圣经》的英文译本
多语对照《圣经》中的一节平均而言是一句，包含有12个不同的英文译本，和6个中文译本，以及一个希伯来语本（圣经旧约使用希伯来语和亚兰语书写，新约用希腊语书写）。
NIV:新国际版（New International Version，简称NIV）是一个当代英语圣经译本，也是目前在英语国家被最为广泛使用的圣经版本。
NCB:New Century Bible《新世纪圣经》。
LCC:(Library of Christian Classes）
CLB:当代圣经译本(The Chinese Living Bible,CLB)。
BBE:基础英语供移民和儿童阅读。
NRSV:是新标准修订版NASB:用纯粹直译方法（Strictly Literal）的译本。
KJV:詹姆士钦定本是近古英文,是现在所能见到的最老的英译本。
BHS:希伯来语原文圣经。
