01 主题 | Theme
Liminality是一种介于两种状态之间的转换中的境况，是同时被两种语境夹杂而囊括着的一个中间的临界态，是一种存在大众视野中被挤压隐藏的状态。
在人类社会生活中，它可能意味着一个边缘身份上的认同，一个不同性别的归属。不是标签，而是生活中一种既定存在的状态。
Liminality is a state in a transition between two states, or a critical state in between being mixed by two contexts at the same time. This is a state that exists in the public eye but is squeezed and hidden. 
Putting it into terms of human social life, it may mean a marginal identity identification or a gender classification. It is not a label attached to people, it is an established state of existence in people's lives.
02 展览介绍 | About Exhibtion
Liminality 中间人：2022年在美亚裔艺术家视觉艺术展，由留学生网和悟空传媒策划，旨在探索Liminality的概念。Liminality是两种语境之间的过渡状态。我们邀请亚洲艺术家探索各种形式的边缘身份（种族、性别、政治、经济等），重新定义这种边缘性。
本次公开征集的截止日期是2022年2月28日。
本次展览将在纽约、洛杉矶、波士顿的艺术画廊线下展出；洛杉矶地区观众票选人气最高前三名展品将会有机会前往波士顿参展。
最终经评委会票选出的前三名艺术家，可分别获得$3000， $2000，$1000的现金奖励。
Liminality：2022 Visual Art Exhibition for Asian Artists in America, curated by Overseas Student Service Corporation and Wukong Media, seeks to explore the concept of liminality. Liminality is a transition state between two contexts. We invite Asian artists to explore marginal identities in all forms ( race, gender, politics, economic, etc.) to re-define such liminality.
The deadline for this open call is Feb. 28th, 2022. 
Selected works will be displayed at art galleries in New York, Los Angeles and Boston; The top three works selected by the audience at the gallery in Los Angeles will have the opportunity to display in Boston; 
Cash awards:
First-place awards in the amount of $3000.00
Second-place awards in the amount of $2000.00
Third-place awards in the amount of $1000.00
03 可接收的艺术形式
 | Acceptable Art Forms
Painting and printmaking ｜ 绘画与版画
作品形式和风格不限（油画、蛋彩、亚克力、水墨、丙烯、水彩、石墨、铅笔、拼贴、印刷等均可）；画板不限（帆布、纸板、木板、塑料板、铁板等）。尺寸限制：长宽均不超过175 厘米。
The work form and style are not limited (oil painting, tempera, acrylic, ink, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, pencil, collage, printing, etc.); drawing board is not limited (canvas, cardboard, wood, plastic, iron, etc.). Size restriction: Length and width shall not exceed 175 cm.
Sculpture ｜ 雕塑
作品可用有机或无机材料制作，包括音响、灯光、视频、机械或电气运动。尺寸限制：长宽均不超过 1米，高不超过1.5米，作品总重量不能超过80kg。需在暗室安装的作品，须配合既有的展示空间。
Works can be made of organic or inorganic materials, including sound, lighting, video, mechanical or electrical motion. Size restrictions: the length and width are not more than 1 meter, the height is not more than 1.5 meters, and the weight of each part of the installation should not exceed 80kg. Works that need to be installed in the darkroom must go along with the existing exhibition space.
Photographic Art ｜ 摄影艺术
胶片或数码照片，可经后期处理。尺寸限制：长宽均不超过175厘米。
Film or digital photos can be post-processed. Size restriction: Length and width shall not exceed 175 cm.
Video Art ｜ 视频艺术
数码或胶片录制的视频、慢动作或延时摄影。时长不超过10分钟，上传文件大小不超过500MB。（无声）
Digital or film-recorded video, slow motion or time-lapse photography, all of them need to be present without sound. The duration does not exceed 10minutes. The upload file size does not exceed 500MB.
Digital Graphic ｜ 数字图形艺术
使用计算机，平板电脑，SMARTHPHONE或应用程序（包括数字绘画，GIF和照片的应用程序）制作或编辑的数字图形和卡通图像和作品，其中以技术干预为主。其中包括但不限于数字绘画，卡通和漫画，GIF和海报等作品。入围作品将放置在显示器上，最大尺寸为50*60厘米; 或印刷在二维支撑上，每边最大尺寸为175厘米。
Digital graphics and cartoon images and works produced or edited using computers, tablets, SMARTPHONE or applications (including digital painting, GIF and photo applications), with technical intervention as the main focus. These include but are not limited to digital paintings, cartoons, comics, GIFs and posters. The shortlisted works will be placed on a monitor with a maximum size of 50*60 cm;  or printed on two-dimensional support, with a maximum size of 175 cm on each side.

  • 参选资格：参选人员需18岁及以上，
    坐标北美
  • 参选费用：免费
  • 申请人需要提供个人简介、艺术家声明，以及每件作品的标题、描述（媒介/过程）和作品尺寸（尺寸和重量/时间）
报名方式：所有符合上述类别以及描述的作品均可通过“扫描海报二维码”报名，或点击“阅读原文/Read More” 将作品提交至OSSC艺术评选委员会筛选。
*单次提交只限一份作品， 如果想提交多份作品，请重新填写提交表格
筛选结果通知：
经评委会筛选，被选中艺术作品的艺术家将在2022年3月7日之后通过电子邮件的方式进行沟通联系
  • Submissions begin January 17th, 2022, and end February 28, 2022  
  • ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists over 18 residing within America.
  • FEES: Free to enter
  • Applicants are asked to provide a biography, artist statement, and title, description (medium/process), and work sizes (dimensions and weight/duration) for each work.
All works that fit the above categories and descriptions can be registered by “scanning the QR code in the poster”  or clicking “Read More” to submit to the OSSC Art Committee.
*if have multiple works need to submit, please submit the whole google form again
Accept Notice：
After being selected by the OSSC Art Committee, accepted artists will also receive follow-up communication and acceptance letters through email after March 7, 2022.
