英格兰新冠限制调整在即，英日死亡却创近期新高
英国出现了11个月以来的最高日死亡人数，在最近的24小时内又有438人死新冠。这是自2021年2月24日以来的最大数字，当时有442人在28天内检测呈阳性的情况下死亡。
情况也可能即将改善，因为在过去一周里，病例一直在迅速下降，死亡人数也可能即将下降。
与此同时首相鲍里斯-约翰逊正准备宣布关于"B计划"的调整。首相和他的内阁将在周三即今日上午审查最新的疫情数据，然后他将于下午在下议院发表声明。
该计划将于1月26日到期，目前尚未就是否延长这些限制作出决定，就目前看来一些对经济活动影响较大的规则可能会被取消--比如在家上班，但在公共场合戴口罩的政策则极可能会被保留。

英国数以千计的学生赌博成瘾
研究发现数以千计的英国学生赌博成瘾并养成 "每周花费30英镑"的恶习。
在对2000名学生的调查中，80%的人说他们曾经赌博，其中35%的人承认使用学生贷款、银行透支、向朋友借钱用以赌博。在那些承认赌博的学生中，41%称赌博导致他们错过了课程讲座、作业截止日期或社交活动。
英国大约有250万名学生，这表明有数十万人因赌博而遭受损失。
在应该最受欢迎的赌博是彩票（32%），包括赌场式的手机游戏，其次是在线体育博彩（25%）和在线宾果（18%）
