Summary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Business Partners to apply machine learning for business and user impact
  • Design, build, train and test ML models
  • Write production-level code to convert your ML models into working pipelines and launch ML models at scale
  • Perform data analysis and build proof-of-concept to explore and propose ML solutions to both new and existing problems
  • Analyze experimental and observational data, communicate findings, and promote launch decisions
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
  • Develop statistical, machine learning, or optimization models
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related engineering/quantitative field
  • Graduating between December 2022 and June 2023
  • Proficiency in advanced coding principles & machine learning fundamentals, including machine learning models, statistical inference, and classes of ML models 
  • Practical knowledge of how to build efficient end-to-end ML workflows
  • Knowledge of ML libraries like scikit-learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Keras, MXNet, etc
  • “Engineer at heart” with a high degree of comfort producing high-quality code
  • Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal skills 
  • Bonus points: Proven ability to effectively turn research ML papers into working code
  • Bonus points: Experience in designing software and ML systems

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with Engineers, Product Managers, and other cross-functional partners to frame problems, both mathematically and within the business context
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to gain a deeper understanding of the problem
  • Write production modeling code; collaborate with software engineers to implement algorithms in production
  • Design and run both simulated and live traffic experiments
  • Analyze experimental and observational data; communicate findings including working with partner teams and presentations; facilitate launch decisions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduating with a Masters or PhD degree between December 2022 and June 2023
  • Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in mathematical sciences (Operations Research, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Behavioral science etc.), Economics (Microeconomics Theory, Econometrics etc.), Data Engineering; or a related field
  • Experience coding in Python or R, SQL; standard data science libraries (NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras); and ML Tools & Libraries (NumPy, SpaCy, NLTK, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras) 
  • Experimental design and analysis 
  • Exploratory data analysis
  • Expertise in one of these specialties: optimization and mathematical modeling, machine learning fundamentals, or probabilistic and statistical modeling
  • Bonus points: Experience in marketplace design, ridesharing, studying two-sided marketplaces, and/or transportation

  • Develop strong hypotheses, create solutions, and uncover business insights to increase growth

  • Partner and develop strong relationships with diverse teams across product, marketing, and engineering
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pursuing B.S/M.S. in computer science, economics, applied math, engineering, statistics or another quantitative field; or in a hard science field, such as physics, biology, biostatistics, etc. 
  • Graduating between December 2022 and June 2023
  • Comfortable working with very large datasets
  • Experience analyzing data in R or Python; proficiency in SQL
  • Experimentation design and analysis of A/B tests 
  • Effective communication skills; detail-oriented
  • Passion for community, sustainability, or transportation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
