Software Engineer (Early Career)

Summary

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete coding tasks in Python or GoLang.
Research, evaluate and implement security tooling to ensure that Apple’s infrastructure is secure and compliance with government, industry and corporate policies and directives.
Excel at working together with internal partners and customers to collaboratively build the right application/solution.
The primary focus of this role is coding and building high performance, scalable solutions for identify management and authentication systems for network devices; this includes building APIs and authentication systems.
In addition to the software development, about 30% of the work will be supporting operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Go, Python, or an equivalent language
Experience in software development, delivering enterprise infrastructure or security platforms.
Experience developing high performance APIs and/or services preferred.
Knowledge of identity management systems, such as TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, or Active Directory preferred.
Understanding of containers, deployment systems (CI/CD), and container orchestration platforms preferred.
Knowledge of networking, network protocols, network devices and router/firewall configuration preferred.
Knowledge of computer security and compliance preferred.

Summary

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Apple’s Enterprise Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, deployment, and operations of world class network services, in addition to the support and integration of Mergers & Acquisitions.
In this role, you will be required write code, automate network design/configs based on documented standards and partner closely with peer developers and network engineers.
Cultivate an environment that enables teams to do things correctly, quickly, consistently and with less effort and learning (operational efficiencies).
You will have the opportunity to work with diverse business units, Information Services and Technology organizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable candidate should have a background in Computer Science / programming
Ability to deliver network infrastructure via automation - Ansible or equivalent (Desirable)
Programming and scripting fundamentals (Python/Bash)
Linux fundamentals
Software development and version control using Git (Github)
Proficiency with API based development (REST mainly)
Network fundamentals (CCNA desirable, but not required)

Two teams in the Information Systems and Technology group: Software and Services and Corporate Functions.
From Apple ID to the Apple website to our data centers around the globe, our diverse collection of engineers, designers and creators manage the massive systems and services that so many people rely on every single day.
We also build the custom tools that empower other Apple employees to solve problems on their own.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Computer Science/Engineering or Equivalent.
Basic knowledge of Relational, NoSQL and BigData technologies.
Knowledge of High Level Coding Languages like JavaGeneral knowledge of security standard methodologies.
Ability to work multiple teams across different geographical locations in different time zone.
Knowledge of REST APIs, LDAP, Python, Shell and Powershell Scripting.
