4.3万人可能被错误地给出了阴性新冠检测结果
英国卫生安全局(Health Security Agency)表示，一些人之前在横向流动设备上检测呈阳性，但结果却呈阴性，对此进行了调查，发现至少4.3万人可能被错误地给出了阴性的新冠检测结果。目前，宣布暂停伍尔弗汉普顿一家私人实验室的运营。
英国国家医疗服务体系的检测和追踪说，此实验室处理了大约40万份样本，其中绝大多数将是阴性结果，但在9月8日至10月12日期间，估计有4.3万人的PCR检测结果可能是错误的阴性，大部分分布在英格兰西南部。

英国82%地区的新冠感染人数上升
在英国82%的地区，冠状病毒病例激增，感染人数飙升至3个月来的最高水平。
在截至10月10日的7天里，大曼彻斯特的特拉福德(Trafford)仍是英国感染率最高的地区，新增病例1942例，相当于每10万人中有817.4例。
北安普敦郡的威灵顿是感染率第二高的地区，从630.6上升到799.2，新增病例640例。
坎布里亚郡巴罗因弗内斯郡的新感染率从699.9例上升到770.3例，为第三高，新增病例为514例。
Torfaen的感染率在威尔士最高(702.3);阿尔马城、班布里奇和克雷加文的感染率在北爱尔兰最高(540.4);斯特灵是苏格兰感染率最高的城市(487.9)。

一项新的研究表明，服用他汀类药物可能会将降低新冠死亡12%。
2020年3月至11月，瑞典卡罗林斯卡学院的研究人员跟踪调查了斯德哥尔摩45岁以上的96876名居民。
在此期间，2545人死于Covid - 19，其中765人(0.5%)死于他汀类药物使用者，1780人(0.2%)死于非他汀类药物使用者。
尽管如此，有理由推测，他汀类药物在改善心血管健康的同时，也能预防Covid-19，尤其是考虑到心血管健康状况不佳是导致严重Covid-19的一个明确风险因素。

报告显示，自疫情开始以来，伦敦近四分之一的夜店倒闭。
根据夜店产业协会(NTIA)的数据，首都有198家夜总会，是上世纪90年代中期以来最少的。与2019年新冠疫情爆发前的256个数字相比，下降了22%。
行业老板们担心伦敦可能会失去其作为世界顶级俱乐部之都的声誉。
夜店被迫关闭16个月，从去年3月到今年7月，这是所有行业中最长的强制关闭。
自7月19日获准重新开业以来，伦敦的夜店仍然遭遇英国脱欧后员工短缺、周末夜间地铁停运、暂停租金政策结束以及伦敦西区(West end)比平时人流量更少的问题。

英国部分地区的R值高达1.6
科学家警告称，冬季儿童感染新冠病例居高不下，且有不断上升的迹象，需要鼓励更多的青少年接种疫苗。
在9月份，18岁以下的病例激增，而成年人的病例则有所下降，有一些地区的新冠感染率可能高达1.6。

18岁以下的人感新冠病毒的比例约为2.4%，18至24岁的人感染新冠病毒的比例为0.46%，75岁以上的人感染新冠滋病毒的比例为0.29%。
最新的数据显示，学龄儿童的感染率很高，而且还在上升。有孩子的家庭也有更高的感染率，这表明孩子可能会把病毒传染给与他们一起生活的人。
该研究估计，整个国家的R率(每个Covid病例感染的人数)为1.03，这意味着病例持平或非常缓慢地上升。
伦敦的感染率可能高达1.59，而东米德兰兹郡则高达1.36。

英国新增45066例病例，157死亡
截至周四上午9点，英国卫生部(Department of Health)的最新数据显示，自疫情爆发以来，英国的死亡总人数达到138237人。

然而，英国国家统计局(ONS)发布的另一项数据显示，在英国记录的死亡病例中，有超过16.3万人的死亡证明上提到了冠状病毒。
昨日，英国确诊了45066例新冠病例。
根据最新的Test and Trace数据，在截至10月6日的一周内，英格兰共有212880人至少一次确诊Covid-19阳性，比前一周上升2%。
这是截至7月21日的一周以来，确诊呈阳性的人数最多的一周。
